Hello,

I am 2019 Dv winner and i attended an interview with my wife on 07 Nov 2018 in Ethiopia. At the end of the interview CO gave me a white slip which requires me to submit an additional document. And on 01 April 2019 I submitted the document, on 03 Apr it was delivered to the embassy.

Since then my "case update date" was changed almost 4 times in three weeks but my case status is still on "AP" and my wife's status is on "ready".

I am waiting but very worried .....?

Based on what?   Administrative Processing is indefinite........could be weeks, months, years....

They asked me for educational document (bachelor's degree) I submitted what they exactly asked.

Besides Dv lottery is an annual program so if it take them months to process I will be in trouble, that's why I am

worried.

That's literally impossible to predict.

It can be month, week or year. Not to mention there is no guarantee their visas will be approved or denied.

Every case is different, and administrative processing is a vast unknown.  I have seen posters who have been in AP for years......Hopefully, the OP will have an issued visa soon.

Every case is different and so are different embassies, so I’d say the Pakistani case is totally irrelevant to an Ethiopian case.

that said... this should be pretty straightforward-

al.be, it is only a few weeks since you sent the document in. Two things have to happen now: (1) the document has to get to the person it needs to and that person needs to find time to work on it - the COs can’t just drop everything they are doing when someone submits a delayed item (2) your initial allocated DV visa number would have been assigned to someone else because your case went beyond the end of the month you interviewed in - so once your document is processed - and assuming it is acceptable - , the embassy still needs to request a new visa number from KCC before it can issue your visa. This shouldn’t take too long, but still may add a few days or so.  Alternatively, the embassy may be waiting to see how its current month DV processing goes, because it may be able to allocate you a visa number from a current month interviewee who is declined, a no-show, or...yes, put on AP to beyond month end.

You know the case is being worked on from the updates. Assuming the document is acceptable, I doubt it will take too much longer. You have plenty of time before the DV year ends for the visa to be issued, so try not to stress about that too much - it could very well be that everything is ready to go and they’re just waiting for a new visa number. Please come back and update us when it is issued!
