Filling Out The DS-160 for K1 Fiance(e) Visa

Hi everyone! I'm here to ask some clarifications about the information we should input into the DS-160 form. I initially filled it out smoothly, thought it was a pretty straightforward task done; until I started viewing Youtube tutorials and saw other K1 applicants doing it differently, instilling doubt into my overthinking mind. 😂 So I'm seeking help from my fellow Filipinos and/or others who know the answers to the more general questions I have:

1. Beneficiary's name: I simply entered my given name and surname as asked; but some say we should include our maiden name because it should match with our passport info. Which is it really, and how do we include it if ever?
2. National Identification Number: I checked "does not apply" at first but some say we should indicate our SSS number on here instead. Is this correct?

3. Passport Book Number: I thought I should check "does not apply" (I don't think the Philippine passport has one) but others re-entered their passport number on here...?
4. Persons traveling with you: Again I thought this would be null because technically I am the only applicant, it wasn't a family trip or group visa or anything like that. But others who are being fetched by their petitioners have included the petitioner's name as the travel companion. Well, as it turns out my fiance is fetching me, too. So should I list him as my travel companion or is that unnecessary?
5. Immediate relatives in the U.S. besides parents: Again (lol) I thought this would be null, but others have included their fiance petitioners on here. Is that necessary, or is this question pertaining to relatives by blood/marriage?

I hope I'm not asking stupid questions (though I might be over complicating things?) 😅 Will definitely appreciate any help. If my post is redundant with another thread please send me the necessary link.

Thanks and good luck to all!

Lots of bad info out there.

Here is a link for the DS-160  (it is from the U.S. embassy in Thailand but the info is good)  https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2016/04/ds_160_step_by_step_guide.pdf

Also take note that the DS-160 is a non-immigrant visa form, some questions truly do not apply to you as a K-1.

1) Name should match your passport.  Given name is 1st and middle name.  Surname is last name only.

2.  No you do not enter your SSS number   DOES NOT APPLY

3.  The Passport Book Number is commonly called the inventory control number. You may or may not have a Passport Book Number on your passport. If your passport does not have a Passport Book Number, please click “Does Not Apply.”

4.  This refers to others that are receiving a visa also .. NOT your fiance traveling with you.

5.   Your fiance is not an immediate relative ... yet.  ;)

According to the DS 160 instructions,  a fiancee  is included within the definition of immediate relative.

Where can I find an official page or document that indicates this? I've tried searching, no luck.

It is on the DS-160 itself.  Look on the right side under Help: Immediate Relative.  Means fiance/fiancee, etc...

I gave you a link to the DS-160 instructions ... follow it.

As for the relative section, it really doesn't matter if you list someone or not.   The DS-160 is designed for a total different purpose than the K-1, so a fair number of questions are not relevant.

Do not get overly stressed with the DS-160,  do make sure all BIO info on you and relevant info about you is accurate.

You won't be able to answer some question about planned date of entry or anything like that as you really don't know, so you have to PFA on those.

As for the vaccination question .. the answer is YES as you will have the DS-3025 after the medical.

If you have SSN from the Philippines you can add that as a "national ID" or a drivers license number. Those are all considered national ID's. If you have neither then N/A will suffice.

I disagree.

BTW there is a new Philippine National ID being implemented. Started in select areas of the country in 2018 and is rolling out in 2019 supposedly.

You can,  but SSS is a retirement program and the number relates to that .. not a national ID.    And a DL relates to driving a vehicle not a not a national ID.

SSN in the states is NOT an national ID either.   And neither is a DL

Many countries have National ID's and they are not SS numbers or DL's BUT there are many who have no system whatsoever so they revert to the closes match to a National ID. Of course, no one will get denied if they were to use "does not apply" or they add their DL or SS number.

And is the Philippines one of these countries?   NO.       There is no National ID in the Philippines.
