EAD Expiring soon..Married to US Citizen but in TPS Status EAD.

My friend was in TPS status from Nepal but now married to US Citizen. He currently has valid EAD card from TPS which is under a(12) category  and is expiring in next 2 months . He filed I485 adjustment of Status along with I765 Employment authorization application in Dec 2018 and got a Notice of Action (I-797C) from USCIS after few weeks. Currently waiting for new EAD card to arrive. We see that EAD category under US citizen is c(09) and TPS applicant EAD category is A(12). Based on the I-797C letter(attached) and instruction from last 5 bullet points, does this notice extends the validity for his current EAD for up-to 180 days or this  is Not applicable to him? does he need to apply for renew of TPS EAD separately to be able to continue his work? so Confused.. really appreciated if anyone can shed some light in here.

I thought you couldn't have two EAD applications open? Your friend may just have to wait until the AOS EAD comes in. I imagine filing for TPS EAD renewal would cancel the AOS EAD application.

I believe your friend can still use the TPS EAD until it expires but the new application for EAD under c 9) does not extend the TPS EAD for 6 months because there are under 2 different categories.

He doesn't want to loose his current job..So until his new AOS EAD arrives, he need to apply for TPS extension EAD separately before it expires so that he can continue his current work?

I dont think he still qualifies for the TPS EAD since he already applied for AOS.  That is just my opinion and I see somebody else agrees but you can always double check with a lawyer to make sure, but common sense is you cant apply for an extension of something that no longer applies to you. But What he can do since he is concerned about keeping his job is try to expedite his AOS EAD using financial hardship as the reason. His current job will need to write a letter explaining that losing him will cause a pb for the company and he can write a letter too explaining how hard it will be to face his bills if he looses his job. And also get the help from his senator/congressman to push the expedite
