Hey Lisa.....I love the Toon Army of course, but I haven't had the pleasure of shopping yet in the Toon. Perhaps next time I'm there I'll check it out! I've just been immersed in football. It's amazing how passionate the northerners get over that stuff. The funny thing is...Peter can't stand football! Perhaps I'll have to find friends (even if they're for Sunderland) to go to games with me....SIGH.

Hahaha, my husband doesn't like football either. He's from Warwickshire originally (we live in north Yorkshire) but one of his grandfathers was a Geordie.

He's the sports widow(er) in our house; he has to sit there and read a book when I'm watching tennis or American football. The 2005 University of Texas season was pretty rough for him, as I was constantly disturbing him by jumping up and down and singing 'Texas Fight' at the top of my lungs every time we scored a touchdown. In fact I'm wearing my UT national champions t-shirt as I type this. Occasionally he'd look up and say "what's an interception?" or "what does first and ten mean?" I got him a copy of Football for Dummies for Christmas.

Hey...slightly off the topic of sports, have you heard anything about any other UK shops in Dallas? There used to be one on lower Greenville but apparently it's closed now. My poor husband is wondering where he'll get his HP Sauce and Cadbury's chocolate.

toon army *spit spit* oh do I have a many chant for you

;)

A true Black Cat supporter wouldn't ever go to see the mags play, specially at St James'....unless we're playin them...Trust me, it's a strange dynamic that will never change. David is a HUGE footy supporter, and while I usually don't care to watch any sports, once I went into the Stadium of Light, I was hooked for life. Now that he's moving here, I urged him to go to as many matches as poss...and he's even traveled with his friends to watch the Sunderland away games. Good thing we got promoted this year so next year he can watch them here on tv.

No shopping in Newcy tho?? That's blasphemy!

Homesick: I root for UT as well, and I'm a true Dallas Cowboys fan too as well as Houston Oilers...er I mean Texans. We're getting Bum Phillip's son as a coach yay! Now that tells on my age there...oops.

I've found some British products at World Market actually! But most we've had shipped in from online websites...I've got a stash of Bird's custard and flake bars yummmm I have my own version of 99's (it's naughty though...I put hot caramel sauce on vaniller ice cream and crumble the flake bars on it and call it a 69 cuz it's that good!

Lisa...wouldnt that be ultimate to see the magpies play sunderland! omg!!! I'd LOVE it!!! Peter will just roll his eyes at me though..he doesn't like all that fuss. I only got to spend one day in Newcastle when I was there last because we tripped up to bonnie Scotland for a holiday. I can't say I'm sorry for that because it was WONDERFUL! But I plan to tour the Toon properly next visit.

I personally would never go watch a derby game cos there'd be too many hooligans on both sides and too much chance of fights breakin out. Tho the last time it wasn't too bad.

It's on the cards for next season, I'll bust out the chants and taunts when we kick some mag azz, lol

Scotland's lush btw...one of my fave places. Where'd ya go?

We spent a few days in Edinburgh. I sure shopped alot there though!!! We saw some sites and hung out in a few pubs. I actually had some pretty good Mexican food and Margaritas down on Grassmarket. Peter has family there so it was a nice visit. I didn't see near as much of Scotland as I wanted though...I want to see the Highlands still as well.

I have young children here, and I won't take them far from their dad, otherwise I might be an expat and settle over there. I absolutely loved it there!
