My sister applied for me on Aug 11, 2006  (this is the received on I-797C).
When would I get approval notice?
I am from Bangladesh.

After being it current how much time can we assume that we would receive the approval letter?

I have not received any letter from our local embassy yet. When do people get the letter normally?

The petitionner will be contacted.   They must submit documents to nvc before the case is ready to  transfer to the embassy and interview can be scheduled

The petitioner should receive notice that a visa is ready (Your priority date is current).   The petitioner could verify with the NVC that they have the correct address and contact info.

 

Once the case is complete at the NVC you will get a letter / packet with the next steps you need like medical, police certificates and interview.

Actually, from next month (May 2019) onward you should be expecting to to be contacted by NVC to assemble and submit required documents to them based on "B.  DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS" even though your priority date won't be current just yet based on "A.  FINAL ACTION DATES FOR FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCE CASES".

If I were you I will contact NVC now to make sure they have both the Petitioner and Beneficiary's current email address on file in anticipation of correspondence from them on how to proceed.
