Our timeline was as follows :

* 4-28-2006 - Married in US, my wife had a B-2 visa.

* 5-10-2006 - Filed I-485, I-765, I-131 & I-864, forms sent to the Chicago Lockbox

* 5-17-2006 - Receipts received from the USCIS; priority date assigned is 5-23-2006

* 6-13-2006 - Biometrics appointment

* 7-7-2006 - Received notice to interview

* 8-29-2006 - Interview date, verbally approved pending background check

* 10-30-2006 - called USCIS 800 number to check status; was advised to call 180 days from the date of application

* 11-29-2006 - called USCIS 800 again, completely incorrect information provided by the staff on duty

* 12-20-2006 - called USCIS 800 number again; was informed that application is beyond reasonable processing times and was informed to make an infopass appointment to check status

* 1-8-2007 - visited USCIS Los Angeles office via the infopass appointment, was informed that application looks "good" and just needs to be approved by the USCIS

* 4-9-2007 - after 3 months of no news, we wrote letters to our State Senators and Congressman.

* 5-17-2007 - AOS approval letter from the USCIS !

* 5-20-2007 - received letter from our Congressman, informing us that he made an inquiry with the USCIS.

*5-26-2007 - greencard arrives !

Some notes on our experiences - the USCIS 800 number is virtually useless, don't depend on the information provided by it. We called several times, and received different (useless) information most of the time. Write to your Congressman and/or Senators if you feel that the delay in processing is protracted. It worked for us !

Received Social Security Number - February 24

Civil Marriage - February 24

Adjustment of Status App. received at CIS - April 18

Employment Authorization App. received at CIS - May 11

Passed written test - received Driving Instruction Permit - May 23

Biometrics - June 11

EAD Approved Online - July 6

Second fingerprint appointment - July 16

Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony November 26

RFE received by the CIS - January 6

AOS APPROVED! - January 21

03/21/2005 - Biometrics and fingerprinting done in Norfolk

11/14/2005 - Interview letter dated November 7th is received

01/23/2006 - Interview at Washington DC - APPROVED

02/03/2006 - RECEIVED MY PERMENANT RESIDENT CARD

10/31/2008 - Filed N400 at TSC

11/04/2008 - Application Received

11/28/2008 - Fingerprinting done in Norfolk VA

02/23/2009 - Interview in Dallas TX - not enough evidence on marriage -given till 03/23/2009 to submit all the necessary documents
