Change of Address while waiting for a receipt number

We are in the middle of filing our AOS and also right about to move. I see that the online tool lets you associate your change of address with a pending case, which makes sense, but our case was mailed weeks ago and we haven't gotten a receipt number yet. Now we're moving in a little under two weeks and need to update our address. Should we hold out until the receipt number reaches us? What if it takes longer than the allotted 10 days after filing? The files we mailed contained our current/old address, not the new one.

I'd follow the law and change it within 10 days.

Do you have someone monitoring your old mailbox? Or have you told USPS of your change of address?

PS you dont need a pending case to change your address. As an immigrant you have to change it anyways. There are two options listed:

You are option one.

Oh sorry. I thought you hadnt filed yet.

Just call them and ask them.

I'd still say option one.

Do what I did.....I called them to confirm if any mail was en route to my address they had on file. Then I explained that I'd be moving, had already filled out the form (AR-11) and was gonna mail it in.

The clerk advised that nothing was mailed out recently but go ahead and send them the change of address form and they will send all new correspondence to the new address.

After mailing the form, I called them a week later to confirm that the address was changed and it was!
