I filed my N400 in Sept 2018. Got the case transfer update on 4-Jun-2019. I got my interview schedule letter on 26-Jun-2019. My case was indeed transferred from Phoenix to Tucson where I will have my interview on 12-Aug-2019. Hope this helps those that are anticipating some news after getting a case transfer update.

@Benoit_L just curious since I'm filing in LA too.. what does your online time estimate say in terms of case processing? I'm trying to see how accurate the estimate is since mine went from 8 months to 6 months in one month. I filed online, live in LA, and filed in May 2019. Thanks!

Hi , my current wait time is 5 months and I filed in Feb 2019.  I am not sure if it is accurate but it seemed to be aligned with my estimated completion timeline (Jan 2020).

I submitted my application March 2019, I received that my case was transferred to a different field office. I noticed that my estimated wait time initially started at 17 months and was then shortly dropped to 2 months and now 1 month. However, I checked the estimated wait time and now it's displaying "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time."

Any thoughts on what could be the delay? I am located in Phoenix.

Thanks!

Had my interview yesterday, Aug 12th in Tucson, AZ. I was among the 'lucky' ones whose case got transferred from the Phoenix office. Tip: they said they didn't just randomly pick up a batch of PHX applications to transfer to Tucson, it was all the southern areas (Not sure what that meant, but my friend who filed her application around the same time I did, had her interview and oath taking in PHX. She lives in northeast Mesa and I am from Chandler. Basically I am south of the US-60 and she is north. Go figure.)

My appointment was at 8am. Came in with my son but he remained in the wait area-- in case anyone was wondering if they can bring a companion. Got called by the officer into the interview room. He asked the expected questions and some smalltalk. He obviously reviewed some of my application snapshots PLUS previous files. He asked 6 questions for the civics quiz. English speaking/writing test also from the civics review material. He congratulated me and asked me to wait for the oath taking notice. Within 10 minutes I was called again along with 2 others and were given the oath taking information that will take place in Casa Grande, Aug 23rd.

My case was transferred and although the system says that there will be a letter explaining it I received nothing. I got an interview notice a week later and I still don't know the reason behind the transfer. It's not that big of a deal but when they say you'll get something and you don't it creates a bit of a panic.

The New York, NY field office transferred my application to Newark, NJ and that's where I had my interview. However, at the end of the interview I was told that the interview would be arranged by the New York office and they will send me a notice. These transfers don't seem to be permanent and it's just to expedite a single step.

Ok guys, here I am for new updates: So I had my naturalization interview today but I didn't get an immediate approval on site.  The IO gave me N-652 indicating that I passed the English and civics test but a decision cannot be made yet.

My application was in the afternoon and I was pretty much the last person in that room.  My IO seemingly was in a rush as he explained he had problems with his computer and the system was slow and not responding in the afternoon.  He had to ask his coworker for help on getting my fingerprints in a different office room.  He said he wanted to go home but the IT system was holding him back.  Actually his coworkers went home already.  I felt that he didn't have enough time to go over my file.  He asked for my passports, green card, driver license and marriage certificate.  And he also asked me about my marriage couple of times, e.g. when were you married? How many times have you been married? After that we quickly went over the questions and English tests which were pretty easy and I passed them all without issues. He also confirmed my name change and asked me all the generic questions about morals.  But the IT system seemed not working as he had to manually submit my signatures on name change and the oath of allegiance.  He said he would need to review my marriage case and if there were any other documents needed he would mail a notice to me. He said I passed the tests but he said I was married less than five years so he'd need to review my marriage, which kinda confused me.

When I was going home, I googled again and made sure I should be eligible for naturalization after 3 years of being a permanent resident and being in a marriage with an American citizen, not 5 years. So I was wondering why he would say stuffs like that. Because my petition to remove the 2 year restraint was approved this year already and my marriage should have been reviewed for authenticity by USCIS already . But another reason why might be that he didn't have time to go over my case because he was either overloaded with other cases or had the IT issues or he was too junior to make the call (Although he didn't seem like it).

I don't wanna be paranoid about it and was somewhat relieved in the same time because I will be travelling abroad soon and might not be able to get my American passport in time to return to the U.S, had my application been approved right away. I googled and people said the wait could be 120 days.  I am ok with it so the timing might work out.  The only thing that concerns me is that why he would say he needed to review my marriage case for naturalization?

Any ideas?
