Thanks for the information. It was nice to hear from someone in a similar situation. I think the idea of setting up an account here and sending a debit card for her to use in the UK is a great way to send money. Much easier than trying to wire the money as that can be quite costly. I will definitely tell my fiance.

You're very welcome!!! We found that this would be the cheapest way to send money weekly ...it cost $1.50 per transaction... vs. $20.00 for a transfer.

We use Chase bank. and when we set up the account we told them exactly what we were doing with it. They had no problem with it. The only thing is the debit card could only be put in my name or Andy's name because you have to have a signature on file at the bank... they said it wouldn't matter for ATM withdrawls she just wouldn't be able to use it as a credit card. Also we had to call the security department for the ATM card and let them know there would be weekly transactions from the UK.

We have been doing this for about a month and a half and all is going well... his ex was not happy about it because the card is not in her name... but oh well she doesn't have much choice...and has been difficult with him for the last 6 years so.... any way another long story...lol
