So, I've just moved and when I go to update the address online, I keep getting this error:

The following error(s) need to be corrected:

  • You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number.

The problem is, I don't have any other receipt numbers other than the one that appears on the NOA extension letter and the biometrics letter. Both numbers are exactly the same, no other new receipt or different receipt numbers were sent to me. Is there some reason the online USCIS change of address page doesn't recognize the only receipt number I have?

Hi I have the same problem. I emailed my lawyer so they could do it and they called me back that I should do it and when I tried it throws that error message as well I have tried like 5 times already. I guess I will have to call USCIS tomorrow.

That message looks like the receipt number isn't the issue, but the "form number". What is a form number anyway? The regular i-751, i-485 etc?

I just hang up with the representative she was very nice. She will submit an inquiry but I still have to send an AR-11 through the mail I could only find the one that expired in 2018. The total call was 30 mins.

I put in the I-751 for the form number, that's the only case open under my husband's name. Still doesn't work. πŸ˜• Our case is at NBC and USCIS hasn't even publicly acknowledged that I-751's are going there yet so...who knows. Will just call later today and submit a paper request.

I bet the website is broken. Yes try sending the paper form, also don't forget to also send form I-865. Not sure if those are sent to the same address, if they are you can just send them together I bet.

If you look at the bio letter, they actually have two receipt #s for I-751 and CR-89.. CR-89 will only show the date when USCIS received your package (never changed after that) and I-751 will show all those updates till your new card is delivered. The problem I used to have is that the receipt # for I-751 hadn't become available till a few months after I-751 was received by USCIS.. If you change your address, you cannot take the receipt # for CR-89 because they have no CR-89 in the system. If you take receipt# for I-751, it will not be valid because you have just filed your I-751 as per your time line and I think it will take some time for the I-751 receipt # to be shown/valid on USCIS website..

I've looked everyone on the bio letter for this CR-89 number, I just don't see it. Either I'm blind or it's just not there. Where exactly is it on the letter?

See below screen shot regarding my wife's two receipt # for I-751 & CRI89.  First one is for CRI89 as I mentioned that it will never change and 2nd one is for I-751 which shows all updates till it's delivered at our mail box. On ASC APPOINTMENT NOTICE,  under CASE TYPE, our letter mentioned two case I751 - CRI89 and under APPLICATION/PETITION/REQUEST NUMBER SHOWS two receipt # as well..
