So I've been looking over my Adjustment of Status forms and I've come across form I-693, the medical examination form.

Now I've read online that I do not need to complete this form as I had my medical examination prior to entering the country and my actual interview at the US Embassy in London.  However during my medical I did not have two of the necessary vaccinations.  At the time I didn't have my tetanus or influenza vaccine.  I am 27 by the way.  After getting my approval to enter the country and marry my fiance I sought out these missing vaccines in the UK before I left.  I received both of them.  The tetanus vaccine is documented on my NHS records and I have a receipt for the flu vaccine.

I have the form from my medical exam in the UK.  Form DS-3025.

I suppose my question is do I need to complete form I-693 and attend another medical examination?

I'm finding conflicting information online and I really want to be sure about this.

Yes you will need to complete the vaccination requirements before you will be approved for your GC. If you had completed that AT your overseas medical exam and they were signed off correctly on your DS3025 you would have been able to avoid having to redo anything in the US.

At minimum you will need those new vaccines signed off by a US Civil Surgeon on the vaccination portion of the I693. Most US CS's will not simply transcribe the vaccination record and will force you to redo the whole medical. Why? Because it's a money grab and they know you NEED an I693 to complete your AOS requirements so they can force you to do whatever they want and charge you whatever they want. You will have to shop around the official USCIS doctor's list to find one who will just transcribe your vaccination record. Sometimes you may need to travel out of state to find one.

Moral of the story for anyone else reading this:

Complete your vaccination requirement abroad and avoid paying the extra cost of redoing your medical which can cost up to $1k in the US.

The reason you're likely finding conflicting info is that for K1 applicants, MOST panel physicians make sure you're all up-to-date with vaccinations at the time of your K1 medical exam. The K1 medical exam is valid for 1 year specifically so that you can adjust status to permanent resident and not need to take a second medical! You should have either received your td or tdap which covers tetanus shot. Influenza is only required seasonally and is usually waived.

Your form DS-3025 should show if you were missing any as well as waivers you might have had, and in fact, DS-3025 will clearly indicate if you have met the US vaccination requirements.

DS-3025 will show "US Vaccination Requirements COMPLETE" checked. If it does, you might have gotten those shots for nothing. Tetanus can be painful too! 😖

HOWEVER, if for some reason you did need to get those vaccinations updated as indicated on DS-3025, then yes you will need to see a civil surgeon in the US (from the designated list). They are the ones who will complete the form and seal it in an envelope for the embassy - similar to the K1 medical exam process. In I-693 they would likely have to indicate in the remarks section why the vaccination was previously waived. You would bring this sealed envelope with  you to your adjustment of status interview.
