Hello everyone, I got naturalized in February. Petitioning both of my parents from China. I will file jointly with my hubby since I am a pre-med student currently with no income.

Please share your family's adventure here with us. Let the wait game begin!

Hi guys, 

I’ve been a  citizen since 2014 and I’m petitioning for my elderly mom who has been here in the US since last October. My mom is in Florida and I am in NY. She’s adjusting in Florida

Priority Date: 4/3/19

Biometrics Date: 5/2/19 in NY - mom did a walk in on 4/26/19 in Florida (completed)

RFE: Received 4/25/19 for most Recent tax document

RFE mailed: 4/26/19

 

I received a Request for Further Evidence (RFE) for recent tax (2018) that I had already mailed with the concurrent filing of I-485 and I-130 but I requested a transcript from IRS online and mailed it the next day. Apparently the 10-pages tax document I attached with the I-864 in the package was “mislaid or over-sighted” at USCIS. I also pointed out in the petition that my mom is adjusting from Florida (she lives with my sister) but her biometrics appointment was scheduled for NY. Someone is dropping the ball here. I chose to have my address as her mailing address, so that I can keep abreast of the process as I have more knowledge of it and is more proactive than my sister. Anyway, it doesn’t matter where her interview takes place as one of us will have to travel but I hope they took note of the response to the question they asked about USCIS OFFICE THAT BENEFICIARY WILL ADJUST. I stated it was the West Palm Beach Office.

Received RFE notice for my mom's medical on June 27 with final date for submitting it on July 25th. Got it done and set it by UPS with signature required to Federal Plaza. Item was received and signed for. Now waiting for the green card as there will be no interview. Will update when the case is touched.

Approved! I just got my mom's approval/ welcome to America letter. No interview! Green card will be mailed and I should receive it in 3 weeks.
