Hey everyone,

So I stupidly didn't save the log and/or export the info received but I apologise now if I repeat a question I've asked on here already.

We have our wedding date all set and whatnot, just doing a draft run of completing the AOS/EAD/AP paperwork along with supporting evidence (I like to do a few runs to make sure familiar with it all...it's a curse I swear).

May seem a stupid question but it is:

I'm the beneficiary and my fiancee will be taking my surname after the wedding. When compiling the paperwork will we write in her married name and use her maiden name as other/previous names?

Summary:

Yes. Think of this process as starting over. You are LukeU married to CourtneyU. Go from there. K1s adjusting status is always from newlyweds. They'll get it.

It's not really critical what name she uses as petitioner because she's not getting a greencard issued in a new married name. But if you don't start with her married name somewhere, then down the road 2-3 years when everything is in that married name, you'd be wondering about ROC..."we put my wife's maiden name on AOS, so should we continue with that name? Will they think it's a different wife if I switch now?"

I didn't even think of it like that, makes my first question seem even more stupid now :P

I've been informed that during my time between filing and receiving EAD/Green card my primary role is completing all of the paperwork for name changes (I won't quote what she said as there's a few expletives thrown in there!)
