My husband had his interview in December 2018 in Morocco, he was told more information was needed and they gave him a piece of paper with what was needed on it and they kept his passport. He spoke with an officer of the Embassy in January which told him he needed a co sponsorer and if he got the papers back quickly he would be in America soon. We had the papers back to the Embassy on the 4th of February, Our status is currently administrative processing and was last updated February 21st of this year. Does anyone have any idea of the time frame the Embassy in Morocco takes? My husband read about 45-60 days. Someone please help...

Admistrative processing has no time frame, so you just have to wait.

Administrative process could take up to 90 days . Try contacting the embassy via email and ask them about your status . If they kept his passport that should be a good sign . It’s probably taking a while because Morocco is kind of notorious for visa fraud .

So they would keep the person passport for years ?? I’m kind of speaking from my experience . They had ya on administrative process for a little over a month and then they made a decision. But I was able to contact someone from the embassy through email and would tell me that they were still working on it and the finally with the decision they had made . I believe since they kept the passport should be a good sign .

That is possible, but presumably in that case one would request the passport be returned until they make a decision. Then submit the passport again when they are ready to issue the visa.

Keeping the passport is generally a good sign in terms of the relationship (why keep it if they already know they are ineligible?), but not necessarily indicative of an approval in the near future either. If they are running additional background checks (not uncommon for some Moroccans), they may use the passport to review the travel history more closely (especially if a DS-5535 is subsequently requested). So no way to know if AP will be days, weeks, months, or longer.

He was not giving the 221 or the ds 5535. There was one paper missing and once that was submitted he was then called and told he needed a co sponsor. Our case was last updated February 21st and we haven’t heard anything... so I am assuming now all the paperwork is complete. I just don’t understand why since all is completed it is taking them so long to issue. The entire process has gone fairly quickly except this.

No ds5535

and they have his passport

has he been asked to register a Aramex station?

Be patient /you should be good to go

and DON'T ASK FOR THAT PASSPORT BACK/ not for the Casa embassy

it could trigger a ds5535 to see why he wants to travel and where / you don't need this

be prepared to pay the visa fee and pray it is soon

your case sounds one of the approvals

so,   let us know when the visa is issued
