As others said, details of your case are needed...not character assessments or military histories or the rudeness of a CO or whatever.

 

If you spent 4 years living together (can you confirm this...it seems to be unclear?), it would be unusual for the CO to determine the relationship was not bona fide unless there was either a lack of evidence presented or there are other circumstances not noted (e.g. if the 4 years together was years ago).

It's also possible the CO felt you may already be married. It's just speculation at this point.

What evidence was submitted with the I-129F? What evidence was brought to the interview? What questions were asked & what were the answers? Anything out of the ordinary in your case? Anything out of the ordinary in your culture? Age difference?

 

Administrative Processing (AP) is a part of every case. It can be mundane clerical/administrative tasks, verification of documents, background checks, etc.

Good point! Is it common in her country and/or religion for unmarried couples to live together, especially for so long? What visa were you in her country on? Did you perhaps have a spousal visa of some kind? Common law marriage visa? I’m just guessing here as I have no knowledge of the visa types available for those wishing to live in Colombia. As we know, the only way an international couple can live together in the USA is through marriage or the promise of an imminent marriage. Maybe the CO assumed that if you are living with her lawfully in Colombia there must some form of marriage between you. Which also begs the question why a K-1 was sought and why you didn’t marry in Colombia and file the cheaper CR-1 which would also enable your wife to work and travel internationally as soon as she arrives. I have to say that a K-1 is an unusual choice for co-habiting couples.

Your moral character plays absolutely no part in this. It is laudable that you served the country to the point of permanent injury but that doesn’t affect this at all. If you are expecting to get some form of golden ticket to bring your fiancée here because you are a veteran, you are going to be disappointed. You go through the same process as everyone else. By contrast, my USC husband is a convicted felon with years of prison time behind him and that didn’t cause any issues at all. The character of the immigrant matters, but (barring a few exceptions) past actions, honorable or dishonorable, of the USC play no part.  

I beg to differ. The Pakistan Embassy latched on to the fact that I have been divorced 4 times. So being divorced several times is obviously more criminal than being a convicted felon--at least to that embassy. This is one thing that is wrong with immigration---they can pick whatever they want to manipulate their decision. What IS most criminal is the way that the embassies are allowed to abuse people.

I dont think anybody would see this as a professional and courteous way to treat an American veteran, who proved his worthiness and loyalty to our great nation. I am very unhappy right now as you can see. please take 10 minutes of your day and explain to me what we are going to do to remedy this situation, thank you

I am thinking that the fact that they kept the passport  that they maybe doing some kind of background check so the only thing that you can do is wait.

If you weren't with her at the interview and she didn't get a refusal letter perhaps she misunderstood and for all anyone knows they kept her passport to issue the visa.

 

This is pure speculation. You haven't given is any details so it's pure guesswork on anyone's part.
