I’m sending my wife’s immigration paperwork today from a UPS store not a USPS (post office). I’m a little confused which address to send to.

I thought it was the first address shown below (Lockbox) I mail my forms to but since I’m using UPS and UPS has a different Chicago address than the Chicago Lockbox address which do I use. Again I’m using UPS, thanks

USCIS Chicago Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

USCIS
PO Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: FBAS
131 South Dearborn - 3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

Which carrier did you choose?  Did you drop a USPS envelope at a drop box at the UPS store or did you send it via UPS?

Good morning, Im taking my documents now to a UPS store and they will use their shipping documents. My documents WILL NOT be sent in a USPS envelope and I will not send from the USPS (a traditional post office).

It’s just confusing because if people send via USPS it’s one address in Chicago and if people use UPS or Fedex a different Chicago address.

So I ship my I-485, I-864, I-131 and I-765 to correct?

For FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

USCIS
Attn: FBAS

As you copied/pasted....that's the correct address for UPS shipments...

It's not confusing, really---the other address is for USPS shipments.  The one you pasted above is for all others.  Since you are using UPS, you would send it to the one listed for UPS...

Thanks, I mailed off so now we hurry up and wait. Hopefully my wife will get her green card by December in about six months.

Although my process is K1, a friend (foreign born US citizen) has daughter who is much older now from Spain she did advanced parole while waiting on her green card some 10 years ago after coming here she is now 20 I think, he said even with advanced parole the POE officer can still deny entry back into USA even with AP approved....just a thought

Thanks VJ friends.

Depends on your local USCIS field office. Some are taking 6 months or less. Many are taking close to a year. Others are taking 18+ months.

Entry of any non-US citizen is at the discretion of CBP. Unless there is a clear reason, refusal with a valid AP document would be very highly unusual.

I wouldn't count on getting the Green Card by the end of the year. It already took 3 months to get the work permit when I applied for AOS in February of 2017. It now takes up to 5 months to get the work permit.

I didn't get the actual Green Card approved until October of 2017.

This is true but as Becci391 says below green cards can take longer than six months so Advanced Parole is must if you need to leave and come back before green card. I’m glad now I did I-485, 864, 765 and 131 instead of just the I-485 and 864.

Ahhh yes the process seems to go on forever......congrads on your green card. Hopefully doing the Advanced Parole gets here by December

I wouldn't bank on it being completed in 6 months, but best of luck to your wife!

Correct...I'm not doubting that getting AP is highly advised. I was only referring to the comment about getting the green card.
