Hello everyone, I am new here and will like to apologise if I am posting in the wrong forum.

Please I need answers to two very urgent questions regarding my interview.

1) My father filed for me as "F24-Unmarried Son/Daughter of Permanent Resident" and I have been scheduled for interview in London UK but I can't make the date of the interview because I will be away from the country for training that has already been paid for and not refundable.

My question is will I be able to reschedule the interview? If yes how do I go about it and will it have a negative impact on my application/interview?

2) I have a 3 years old son which I stated on the form and I said he will be joining me on a later date in the US when I relocate but I have changed my mind and will like him to relocate with me at the same time.

My question here is how can I add my son at this stage and what documents will be required?

Please I will be super grateful if I get a comprehensive response asap.

Many thanks

hi

yes you can reschedule your interview, you will most likely need to call the consulate to do it

at the interview you will let the consul know that you want your son to immigrate with you and he or she will give you the instructions on where to pay for the forms and present the paperwork and documents

I would tell the consulate when you call to reschedule, that you want to take your son with. Better to have him on the interview notice and do ds260 etc before interview, but you will need consulate to know your intentions for that. Often, consulates will not allow entry to family members not named on the interview letter.

Specifics vary by country, but generally they need either a letter from the other parent granting permission to immigrate OR a court order.

You will need to resolve those custody issues before he can be issued a visa. If his mother will be joining you later, then presumably she will sign whatever is appropriate in your country to give you permission to take him.

Presumably the plan once he has his GC is to get married and sponsor the mother.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Yes she will sign it. So do I go to the court for documentation to this regards?

Your father is permanent resident and not a US citizen.Right? He sponsored your case as un-married son?

But you say you have a son also?

What can you make out of this?
