I sent my I-485 package through Fedex on April 2nd to the Chicago lockbox. FedEx emailed me delivey confirmation on April 4th and that it was signed for by J Harper in shipping and receiving department . I have yet to receive an email or text from Uscis confirming receipt of documents. Is it normal for the forms to go to shipping and receiving department? I'm very worried that my documents have been lost. I Contacted uscis and they still have no information on file a of today 04/19. I have called FedEx several times and they have confirmed that the courier delivered it to the correct place. Has anyone experienced this? Has anyone received info that a J Harper signed for their package?

I would think it is perfectly normal since it was a Fedex package sent to the facility......but I also think it should be normal procedure for them to transfer it to the documents department......If the package was delivered to the correct facility, it is completely out of the hands or responsibility of Fedex.

I recall something I sent via UPS being signed for with a name and then “dock”. When it’s sent to an office building, all deliveries are likely processed through one location (usually signs say “all deliveries in back”).

When I sent AoS it was a long while before they got around to opening it and assigning a receipt number to it, as sometimes they get pretty backed up.

Please calm down it can take about 3 weeks before you hear something back from them

It's probably fine. Take a deep breath.

When I sent an an RFE response for the I-129F, it never updated saying it had been received. I never even got the text saying it had been delivered by the courier. Its officially 340 days since they mailed the RFE and it's still not updated on that case. My husband moved here over 6 months ago on his K-1.

When I tried to ship to lockbox via FedEx, they said only USPS has access to those and I should mail with them. FedEx wasn't even able to find the address in the system.

But FedEx claimed it was delivered to the lockbox location. And the money order hasn't been cashed.

FedEx/UPS/dhl can't deliver to a po box, only the USPS can, they need a physical address in order to deliver something

For the USPS is a P.O. box but there is also an address for FedEx and UPS

Couple things, how did you pay for I-485? Personal check or credit card? Were the funds taken? Lockbox facility has e-mail address: LockboxSupport@uscis.dhs.gov  E-mail them and ask about the status of your package. Do not count on G-1145 to provide you with SMS and e-mail updates, I never got those, but I did get paper NOA1 in USPS mail. Good luck.

I know how easy it is to panic, but try not to!

Our check wasn't cashed the same day as it was delivered, it took just over a week until we received txt notifications & check was cashed.

If you haven't heard by end of next week, give USCIS a call?

It should be OK. I have done the similar thing- I sent my N400 to a Fedex address using USPS. It did cause some confusion and delay, but it got to where it needed to be. I bet it happens from time to time. It took me about 3 extra weeks, I think.

I did call USCIS reported my mistake, and they logged some sort of "Package not received" case. A few days later, my credit card was charged then I got my NOA.
