I'm floating that idea.... how long does it take to restart a I-130? Curiously, my local congressional aide said that I would not owe $200 on it, despite what is being said on visajourney.com

Curious... what made you look at this option now?

Certainly. I might call and ask my congressional aide about that - just because I'm curious. THe long wait time to get th epetition restarted again is a killer, though, so I don't think we will go that route afterall. If I didn't have to wait fr the petition to restart it the rest of it looks as if it might be much faster + easier to finish the I-130.

Certianly VJ is a public forum and therefore certianly not an authority on anything! :) I found it curious that he was "very familiar with it", though, and though I'd add a little context to the conversation. I would only owe $200 if I decided to file the form. That is also true. Thank you! I do appreciate your clarity, pushbrk! Things can get very, ... muddy ... sometimes

The new fees came out today. Glad I already sent out the I-485.

That changes things quite a bit!

http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...edule052907.pdf

AOS

I-485 +biometrics $1,010

I-765 $340

I-131 ($305 Travel)

So that puts it at $1,350, up from $575.00. This compares to $650 @ the NVC.

CutienPurg

if your I-130 gets approved with the I-129F, you will incur the cost of filing the I-824 $200.00 and travel costs to the home country. NVC fees are $380.00 for the DS-230 and $70.00 for the I-864.........so about 650 plus travel cost and wait time.

The NVC charges for a I-864? I imssed that the first time.

Soooooo... I gues I have to contact the CSC to see how quickly they can move the I-130 along.

The fee increase, mainly. It is now possibly cheaper or comparable to fly back to BKK for the second interview instead of doing the AOS. I hear doing the AOS in the USA is a major Pain in the hindquarters. Now it all depends on speed for me ... if the lag time is also comparable, then we'll do the trip back to BKK... Narisa will get a free trip back home out of it.
