I wished we have known that it is OK to use her married name on both the I 751 and N400 applications!  I was just afraid that her Philippine passport was still using her maiden name so I thought we should follow whatever it says .  And our marriage certificate has her maiden name too since that's what the county where we used to reside in New Jersey required on the certificate.

I our case, my wife’s Russian passport is still in her maiden name as it is almost impossible to change it in Russia.  Regardless, we filed all the immigration forms from AOS onward in her new married name and was fine.

As @Ontarkie mentioned, you should still be able to apply for her US passport in her married name with her naturalization certificate and a certified marriage certificate, as it would be similar as someone who got married after naturalization.

Good Luck!

I still never changed my Canadian passport either and I shows my ex's last name. If I was to fly I would just show the marriage certificate to match my name to Canadian passport. My marriage certificate has my ex's last name on it as I didn't go back to my maiden name. It would have been a mess if I couldn't just assume my USC's husbands last name. Ours here in Arkansas also didn't ask what my last name would be after marriage.

Now at least you can keep using the married last name and get the passport. It shouldn't be any problem but there is always that one turkey that likes to be difficult. Hopefully everything goes smooth.
