How long can you take to submit documents to NVC? (merged)

Greetings, we got word in March that USCIS had sent our case onto NVC, hooray! However nothing has come in the mail, and each time we call the number listed for NVC a record plays, saying they have a high call volume, and it hangs up.  We have called dozens and dozens of times from different phones and lines, and it does this repeatedly.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Greetings, my husband has three children from previous relationship (they were not married) and these children plan to stay in their country and not immigrate to the US.  My husband and their mother have no formal custody agreement, he pays her directly in order to support the kids while he is out of the country and while in his country they live with him.  They have always had a cooperative relationship on this and never had to set up a legal agreement.  Will this be an issue or is there something we need to document on this?

Keep trying to call, it is what it is, and they are experiencing a high call volume so not every call goes through the first time.

Greetings, has anyone done the CR1 process with a spouse coming from Costa Rica?  How long did it take from the point your started at NVC and submitted those documents until you were called for a interview in San Jose?

Hi Folks, once you have word that NVC has been sent your packet, how long do you have to submit the following paperwork and forms?  Can you up to 6 or 7 months, is there some kind of cut off in which your application would no longer be viable?

Not an issue.   But they do need to be shown on the petition.

Thanks! Is the contract the first thing they send to you? We have not received that yet.

At some point you will need to submit the I-864 and pay the AOS Fee.  They will contact you.  You can then take your time filing.   You can also delay at the embassy stage.

 

Keep in mind that policies can change as you delay.  Usually not for the better.

It takes 8 about 8 weeks from approval to get your welcome letter from NVC that will include your case#. You still have some waiting to do.
You can keep trying to call to check your receive date. That is usually 2 weeks after NOA2 (Approval) then the 6 to 8 week wait for case#.
