i think its "possible", but get on to them 1st thing tomorrow. Maybe they can even delay forwarding the medical until you get your shots done. If this does happen then I think Boots and Superdrug can do the shots on the day (again youd have to check)

I found the fees we paid here to give you an idea:

Tdap vaccine from Walgreens - $54.99

Civil Surgeon fee for signing off vaccination section of form I- 693 - $98.00

But I needed shots completed here too, so the total has been $535.96 for both of us.

As I said, the Civil Surgeon part is unknown to you at this point so you need to figure out if the cost/hassle is worth getting it completed in the UK or US. You can't file for AOS until you have this completed and you have 90 days from POE to do that.

Do you think I could potentially go back to Knoghtsbridge, get the vaccine and then get the updated vaccine sheet? Or is that out of the question now that the medical has already been competed?

In general it's out of the question. Once you complete the medical that's it. I've seen people try, beg, and plead. Doesn't much matter.

They have to wait for the lab to send back your bloodwork report so it's not signed off yet. Call them first thing and tell them to hold your medical results until you get the Td shot and send the proof to them. When I had my medical years ago, it was the nurse who suggested I go to my GP and have them fax the info to the visa clinic. Then they mailed me the copy of the signed off DS-3025. Ask their fax number. Don't let them fob you off because that medical report has not left the clinic yet and they can revise it.

Many people spend $250 or more when they have to see a civil surgeon in the US.

Good luck!

Was it the GP who refused it the receptionist? I had a similar experience but prior to the medical. I called to book an appointment and got the usual Spanish Inquisition from the receptionist. I said it was for travel and she asked where I was traveling to. When I told her it was the USA she said it wasn’t needed. So I told it was needed for my visa medical and she put two and two together that I was immigrating and gave me a lecture that the NHS is not there for people who decide to “upsticks and move to the sunshine” (at which point I wanted to add that the Cascade Mountains in WA are considerably colder than almost anywhere in the UK - there’s more to the US than Orlando). So I booked an online appointment with the GP and explained the situation to him and he told he to go to the reception desk and tell her that he authorized it. Cue more chuntering from her about people “taking liberties”.

End result - I got the vaccine on the NHS. I imagine the receptionist is still spitting feathers about it.

UPDATE:

So I was able to put my medical on hold until I send them proof that I’ve had the shot, and then they’ll send out an updated DS-3025.

My GP in the end agreed to give me a free tetanus shot, but they were not able to do it until next Thursday. As I didn’t want to wait that long I just went to boots and paid £35 for the shot today and emailed the medical practice proof.

I doubt they would have been working on my medical Friday-Monday anyways due to it being Easter bank holiday weekend, so hopefully this has only set me back by a day or two at the most. And I saved £5 by getting it done at boots and not paying the £40 at the medical. So I guess I’m the real winner here... haha

But what you should take from this, just get the shots at the actual medical so you don’t have to stress afterwards
