Ha. Ha.  Online school.  Only have to show up a few days and you get work permit.  Doesn't even sound legit.

It's pretty obvious that the school is a sham for you to stay in the US.   This school works because you will be allowed to stay in whatever city you are in to continue to wait for your green card.  This is EXACTLY the things that those kids were caught doing - enrolled in an almost entirely online school that they didn't have to show up for.

Lol

With 99% odds OP is from India, found this gem of an India embassy advisory on CPTs and visa mill universities

You need to submit an application for EAD with your AOS.

Approval of AOS gets you a green card.  The EAD comes much earlier than approval of AOS.

Never heard of it.

Will you be moving to Kentucky?   Will this actually further your education, or is it a stop gap measure so you can stay in the US until you get a green card?  Do you think the US Government will see you as a serious international student with the intent to return home or someone trying to game the system?  Do you think you are the first to try this?  Using school as a pretext to stay?  Do you think the US Government would recognize this?

It doesn't seem to me that you intend to be a serious international student with intent to return home.  The ONLY REASON for this school is to remain in the US until you can get a green card.

Yes, I COMPLETELY AGREE with you. And NO, I am not going to transfer my SEVIS to such school. But I am also worried that me UNKNOWINGLY applying to the school and getting admission is going to cause any issue to my AOS ?

How can you UNKNOWINGLY apply to school?   Someone else apply and didn't tell you that they applied for you?   You were unconscious and not aware?

You knew what you were applying for.  You know why you did it.

Whether it will affect your AOS is unknown.

      a. I need to plan for day 1 CPT for which I need to transfer my SEVIS from previous univ to NEW university (which I already got admission letter from).

      b. Is it bad idea to transfer my SEVIS to new college and get a new I20 by enrolling in 2nd Masters ? will this cause issues to my AOS ? my idea to go back to school is to learn some new courses and also which gives me a chance to work through Day-1 CPT route.

Why seek and receive an admission letter.. and ask if it is bad to do so.. when you don't plan to transfer?

Recently, it came out that international students enrolled in fake universities that didn't require them to be on campus resulted in those students getting deported.  OP found this out after he applied to his online school.  Now, he's in a panic.

Yep, I've been been following some deportee stories in the Indian media. Tons of shady stuff goes on with Day-1 CPT schools.

OP appears to be cherry picking which posts to respond to here.

@Aaron2020 has provided OP lots of useful info. OP is trying to find a hook or crook way to still continue working while AOS+EAD is pending after OPT expires; hence applied to a shady online school for a shady Day-1 CPT. M'en, you got to respect the system and the process; the kind of shady things people do to abuse the immigration system is craaaazy. 'UNKNOWINGLY' applied, smh.

LMFAO. How does one unknowingly apply to school?

People on this site have seen and heard it ALL and the fact that you're lying through your teeth thinking that no one sees through your lies is insulting. As Aaron stated, it's clear you did what you did to skirt immigration laws so you could stay in the US until you get a green card. If we can see through your lies I'm thinking our government will see right through them, as well.

I know I'm going to get slack for this, but I'm one of those people who thinks AOS should not be allowed for people who arrive on anything other than a visa that allows for AOS in advance. No more AOS from visitor, student or any other visa except for a K-1. And that doesn't mean I want a wall(I don't) or that people shouldn't be allowed to apply for asylum(they should).

CPT is allowed for very specific circumstances, mostly because work authorization is needed as part of an academic program. I was on CPT. My undergraduate program required all students in my major to complete one whole semester of internship. That is a requirement to graduate. Something like that is what CPT is for. Not those visit for one day on orientation and you get CPT from day 1. ICE has raided those university in the past, arrested the owners and deported the students (after making them all wear GPS bracelets-apparently that caused some outrage (?))

And here is a more recent article, one interesting note is that ICE is now evidently running undercover stings where they posed as "University officials" to recruit students who want to do day 1 CPT and then promptly arrest them:

Here is another sting, wow I keep finding this:

Couldn't agree more

Day-1 CPT is a not-so-uncommon tactic employed by a number of Indian nationals as a sort of placeholder when they get in a jam. They will try anything to remain in the US and not have to return to India where, in some cases, the 'students' families are under loans up to their necks to send their child to the US. A number of for-profit schools exist specifically for this shady purpose.

With the H1Bs under higher scrutiny than ever, many Indian nationals look to Day-1 CPT if their H1 petitions/extensions get declined by USCIS. About 70% of H1b visas go to Indian nationals, and there is a decent bit of fraud in that program that USCIS seems to be catching up to. A few, not saying the OP, go the AOS to a USC route.
