Alright... we just got our letter... it was a problem with filling the form. My question is: do we send the form or just fill the answers in the letter? TIA!

Once you get your RFE, read over very carefully as you only have one chance to reply accurately without causing undue harm. Once you know what it is set out to correct and to include "everything" they are asking for. Then reread the RFE to ensure you are compliant. Make copies of everything for your record and send back using their instructions which are contained within the RFE. If the RFE requires a signature, PLEASE don't forget this. Include the original RFE letter along with a cover letter explaining what are including in yiur reply. Like a checklist format. Once received at USCIS your case will begin adjudication where the agent had left off. No one can tell you how long it will take so be patient.

You’re lucky you’ve got your letter .. my fiancé isn’t comfortable calling and feels if we annoy them they will put it backwards when it’s so annoying because I want the entire process to start moving aghhh

It could happen, who knows... but the thing is, you don't have to be annoying to get information :) you just have to be persistant, because they're gonna put your call on hold, tell you they can't get you to a tier 2 representative... it's a patience exercise

Hi. NEED HELP!  I got RFE at the end of May on the ground that USCiS is concerned that our relationship is genuine:( and asking to provide proof of bona fide relationship along with evidence of financial support. I am confused because in my initial package I mailed all evidence of 6 trips that I made within 15 months period to visit my fiancé. What else should I send them? another question is for providing Evidence of financial support. Do I have to submit Affidavit of Financial support form I-134? As far as I can understand Affidavit is required only for interview?

Well this happen to a friend of mine when she was doing the cr-1. She thing she did was open a joint savings account in his country and if there has been any money transfers done, you can use the receipt. It worked out perfectly for her!

Only 16 days after sending in our RFE, we received notice of our NOA2 approval.  Actual approval only took 13 days (received by USCIS on 6/7/19, NOA2 approval on 6/20/19)!  I am so happy that this went through so quickly!

This forum has been a great source of information.  Good luck to everyone still waiting on their NOA2. 😄

Congrats on your approval!  Now another 2-4 weeks for the case to get to the NVC.  The main hurdle is now behind you.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey Guys,

I just started walking this RFE path.

My noa1 date is 04/08/19

RFE: 07/02/2019

I haven't gotten a letter nor is it showing on the websites ( old and new) i just happen to know because I called this evening and was told.

When I asked why haven't I been notified via the website or letter since its been a few days, the tier 2 office just said that it was an initial request and it must be waiting for a supervisors approval. Don't know why is that taking so long? Did this happen to anyone and if so how long did it take after finding out before getting in the mail?

i have so many mixed emotions right now

Q1. I haven't gotten a letter nor is it showing on the websites ( old and new) i just happen to know because I called this evening and was told.

Q2. When I asked why haven't I been notified via the website or letter since its been a few days, the tier 2 office just said that it was an initial request and it must be waiting for a supervisors approval.

Q3. Don't know why is that taking so long?

Q4. Did this happen to anyone and if so how long did it take after finding out before getting in the mail?

i have so many mixed emotions right now

Q1. Letters will be issued once they are complete. I have experience that others have sometimes been told that there is a RFE but it never gets issued and the case goes on to the final adjudication. Don't depend on governmental sights to be very accurate. The only exception is CEAC.

Q2. Sometimes RFE's require the Supv to sign off and sometimes the Supv instructs that a RFE is not necessary and one is not issued.

Q3. I'm not trying to be antagonistic, but this is USCIS's timeline not yours. When something gets done, it's not when you want it. I keep telling others that the "man with the gold makes the rules". It's a hard pill to swallow but it is reality.

Q4. This happens to others. With the millions of visa's issued everything you read here has happened to others.

This is a process and if you trust the process and let it play out and you have patience, your experience will be that much better.
