after 11 weeks of waiting our RFE was approved.

we were sent an email. The website however hasn’t changed.

Big Congrats!  You both must be thrilled.

From this thread, it seems that if anyone has any past court cases, the wait time from RFE Response Received to NOA2 is approximately 5-11 weeks.  Others who haven't said they have court cases are waiting around 2-5 weeks.

Ugh... right.  That's not pleasant.

It's frustrating how little transparency there is on what exactly is going on over there and what we can do to help them process faster including providing more info or explanation if they need.

On exactly our 3 months of noa1 (11/13/19), we receive RFE via the website.  I'm waiting for it to show up in the mail.  I really have no idea what it could possibly be.  I was sure all of our i's were dotted, and t's crossed.  I felt like I went above and beyond for what they asked for.  A bit nervous...

Anyone have an RFE response received around or before 10/21 and are still waiting on NOA2 approval?

USCIS received mine on 10/21 and I'm still waiting.  It's frustrating as I see others with a similar situation approved in less than 6 weeks.

do you know whats funny? they dont require pictures of you and your fiance together since they dont consider that as proof, but they require passport stamps... just because you flew to that country doesnt prove that you two were actually together, lol.... you could have seen someone else instead... like i said, the government is a joke.

This was pretty much exactly my RFE though. I had passport stamps and a handful of other proof, but no photos, and they said basically "we believe you were in Senegal during the dates you claim and that you spent that time at your fiance's place of work, and that they work there, but it isn't proof that you actually met." So 🤷‍♀️ fair enough, but passport stamps aren't a sure thing.

cant believe i didnt find this thread earlier and its a good thing i didnt... hearing everyones stories about how long they have waited since their RFE for approval is not making it any easier.. 😔with the holidays coming up it might take even longer than 'normal' 😭

has anyone who's had an RFE just been sent the hard copy of their approval rather than an update via email, text.app, website?

looking at VJ processing timelines some people with RFE's for exactly the same thing i did have been approved for NOA2. Its a little disheartening to see this. I know each case is different and depends on the adjudicator but seriously! 🤬🤬🤬

Totally. I kept telling myself last month that there's no way they wouldn't get back to me before the holidays. Now that the holidays are approaching, it's looking increasingly more realistic that they will get back to me in 2020. We all know people aren't working for ~ 2 weeks and if they are, it's half assed.  Then during and around the holidays, the backlog will grow even larger as people send in more i129fs and RFEs with little to no resources to work on it.

My main concern is that my file got lost or stuck under a pile & forgotten. Some days, I have negative thoughts about my application somehow getting denied.  Although I attached my court case destroyed documentation from the county superior court, I did unfortunately not attach my police record for the two infractions as a minor (not even misdemeanors). I think I may have missed that requirement though the wording of the RFE was somewhat confusing. My lawyer also never told me I had to do that though I won't blame him as I should have been more meticulous about it as well.

I was initially concerned about China<->USA relationship impacting the processing times, but It's also not a China thing either as Chinese beneficiaries on this website that have been sent RFEs have similar processing times with other countries.

I'm approaching the 60 day mark as my case tracker now says day 54.  Next week I'll be able to call USCIS and ask them about the status.

I'd like to throw the case tracker app out the freakin' window sometimes because the status never changes.

I should be more optimistic because I've looked up denial reports and that happens when there are issues like the spouse can't get divorce papers, domestic violence, petitioner previously lying to the gov that he/she was married to get a visitors visa, lying in the application in general, haven't visited spouse enough, etc. all that don't apply to me.

There are other people that waited longer and we all know the processing times are pretty variable... trying to stay hopeful.  I just wish there was a way I could actually know what's going on over there.  If they need more info, I'm very happy to provide it.

I guess I am joining this thread. Just got updated that a RFE has been sent 16/12 and I just have to wait and see what it is for. I am freaking out like it is a huge deal as I thought our application was good and I just want to be with my partner heh. So joining this wild ride with everyone else.

Welcome to the club lol.... Likely not a big deal.  If you're unaware of something obvious like criminal convictions or forgetting to send divorce papers, usually RFEs ask for something very manageable like making sure a box was ticked or providing more evidence of your relationship.  Moreover, most people get their RFEs approved in 2-4 weeks.  I'm one of the more exceptional cases where I have to wait longer, nearly 2 months now.

Thanks. Not a club I wanted to join but I always prepare for the worst so I had assumed that I would.

I can think of a few things. I am from Australia but we still loaded the application. However, I didn't provide passport stamps as we did ESTA and ETA and I didn't know you could get electronic entry and exit via I-94 and the Australian version. I already downloaded the PDF of the I-94 and need to apply for the Australian one for my fiance if that is what it is.
Otherwise maybe my divorce certificate. We went it in but it is electronic only BUT that is how they are all done in Australia so shouldn't be an issue.
Or maybe the intent to marry letters as a few people have RFE for those. We followed the template and wet signature but you never know.
Criminal MAYBE. He has no convictions at all but when he was young him and his dad got in a fight and to 'teach him a lesson' his dad called the cops who took him to the station. That was all included though and no charges too etc.
Otherwise maybe he did forget to sign or tick something.

I think it has to be something that I listed. Which are all faily easy to overcome.. I think.

Hopefully yours come soon! I don't mind the delay because I am not moving until July but it is the not knowing and it all being up to a stranger that makes it hard.
