We called the USCIS office twice now and they said we got an approval in September. Still haven’t received a letter in the mail. Nervous that there was a mistake or that it wasn’t actually approved!

Lucky You!!

I would really appreciate any advice anyone might have on here regarding speaking to a Tier 2 officer.  This is my second opportunity to speak with a Tier 2 officer and once again actually was told nothing more than "USCIS is still working on your file and no decision has been made yet."  This time, however, the person was much more pleasant when relaying to me the information.  She did add that all I can do at the moment is wait but I should be hearing something really soon.  Not sure what that may be code for or if she was just trying to make me feel a little better.  I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.  I have heard so many accounts here on the forum where people have called and actually received useful information.  I must not be asking the right questions...

Just sit back now and wait; otherwise you’ll keep calling and being told the same thing.

you will hear.

Timeline

Thanks for everyone's comments.  It helps me understand the process and timelines better.

I've been living in Shanghai and am applying the i129f for my fiance in China with the assistance of a professional immigration lawyer.

I received an RFE to provide more docs on intent to marry and address a traffic violation when I was a minor.  Case files were destroyed so I provided evidence of an email to me from the court attaching the record of case destruction, record of case destruction, notarized statement from me detailing the case, and a copy of the relevant sections of the California Government Code governing criminal court record required document retention and case destruction policy which is in line with the facts and evidence of my case.

In addition, I provided evidence of wedding preparations, evidence of ongoing communication, evidence of subsequent meetings, correspondence with friends about future marriage, affidavits from my sister and fiance's mom regarding our relationship, evidence of financial support, and evidence of our engagement trip to the Maldives.

Now I'm just waiting for the NOA2.  It appears that most people, after sending their RFE response are getting the NOA2 notice anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months with some exceptional cases longer than that.

Hope we get our notice soon.  Wish everyone in this forum best of luck and to hold tight.

Timeline (so far)

Sent i129f - 7/10/2019

Received - NOA1 - 7/15/2019

Received RFE - 10/8/2019

Sent RFE Reply - 10/17/2019

Received NOA2 - Pending

i broke down and got a fax number and got my RFE faxed to me.  it says the 2x2 passport photos I sent wasn't the right size even though I measured them.  also they needed more information that we met.  its stupis because I sent pictures with a sand castle of the date also plane tickets.  then they said the itenaty was created before the date I went there.  even though I sent the tickets of us being on the plane together.

So now I have to sent money to get new passport pictures and have them shipped to the US then take more pictures of my passport stamps and plane tickets.

it because the government is looking for BS reasons to deny applications and just keep our $535.

no matter how much proof you provide, they will still come up with a fake reason to deny your application. those who get approved are the lucky ones.... this is why everyone should frontload their application.

it's like playing russian roulette. some get lucky, some dont....

did you hear about a member on here who got RFE for sending the same exact "intent letter" everyone else have? they used the same form provided on this site and still got RFE.

the government is a joke.

do you know whats funny? they dont require pictures of you and your fiance together since they dont consider that as proof, but they require passport stamps... just because you flew to that country doesnt prove that you two were actually together, lol.... you could have seen someone else instead... like i said, the government is a joke.

Talking to USCIS call centers is like a box of chocolates, you never know what answers you are going to get. You are doing nothing wrong except calling to much and stressing yourself out. Limit your calls or don't call at all you'll feel better and the result you are looking for will fall into your lap.

Bottom line and an easy line, the government has what you want, and if you want it you MUST play the game no matter what your feelings towards it.

You know what's funny. In the hands of a Photoshop expert a picture can be created with two people in Timbuktu all the while they are in Michigan. Ain't that HOOT!

A piece of paper can get lost in the processing of the scan process or the transfer of a file to a new location. Hence the request for a document that may have been provided. Frustrating as it seems that's the reality.

I know you’re right....  I just feel powerless sitting here in a holding pattern.  I know others have waited longer but 7 weeks seems excessive in comparison to so many people on here that have been getting NOA2’s in 2 to 3 weeks.  Makes you go crazy thinking about what if???!!!

We are only reading a handful of “quickly processed visa” stories.

The reality is there are thousandsssssssssssssss of applications received every month.

Best advice is do not compare your story to anyone else’s.
