I called the USCIS today to just check in and make sure they didn't lose our case. After 30 minutes on hold, I was finally talking to someone. Surprisingly when she pulled up our case she said to me "Your case was APPROVED yesterday, NOA 2 letter is on the way".

Woohoo!

Hi

What was your RFE about. What did you send them please let me know I'm learning

we wrongfully submitted my marriage status "widowed" and "single" in the initial I-129F.

We were asked to clarify that, so I submitted a single status affidavit notarized and authenticated by my government, and an up to date household registration to proof I was never married.

Hope this helps!

This is probably something that most of you already know but I found it quite interesting.  I have been corresponding with another member here on the forum regarding RFE responses.  According to her, the USCIS apparently only collects the RFE responses from their P.O. Box once a week - presumably on Monday.  I was hoping that was not true as I had spent $25 to get my response into them overnight.  According to the tracking info, my RFE response was signed for at the Post Office on 9/4 but I just received notification today that they received it only yesterday.  Just thought I would put that out there for anyone else that may be preparing a response to their RFE.  No need to waste your money trying to get it there on any other day but Monday.  Just a FYI.

Now that my response has been officially received, I get to start the same waiting game that many of you have already suffered through.  A pattern that I am also finding interesting is that most of the people never receive any online notification of their NOA2 but rather just have to wait to receive it in the mail.  I find it odd since most people that don't have the misfortune of receiving an RFE, actually get notified electronically of their NOA2.  Of course I am sure there are exceptions.  Just something that I have been noticing.

Not at all. They updated our status and said, they received our RFE response on Saturday. The last Saturday of August, to be more precise. My SO mailed the response on Tuesday, so you are wrong.

Well they were asking about NOA2 to NVC case time. That's why I said 2-3 weeks per VJ timeline guide.
