There are a couple of more people from my month that got similar rfe and we sent our responses about the same time and they already got their approval. This is what makes me the most nervous. To be left behind.

Dont worry it takes 2 weeks to 30 days to receive a response on an rfe. Anyday now. Dont look at other ppl's stuff..it just makes it more frustrating. Im in the same club now.

You also have to consider the workload of your adjudicator.  I am a September filer and I literally received my RFE the last possible date on the timeline to process.  I called USCIS to get a status update only to be told by an agent that I need to put in a case inquiry for outside processing time.  Lo and behold a few hours after the call I received in email that I would be receiving an RFE.  I overnighted the paperwork to them—received April 10th but no update to my status online. Some agents don’t update at all so all we can do is wait.

Well than they should not move so quickly to January month and maybe they could work and finish other months. It's not fair that some people get their NOA 2 in three months but others in 9. We all pay money for the application, and we all want to move on with our lives. What I am trying to say we are just numbers for them. There is no consistency or fairness when comes to USCIS. It's definitely not first come first serve, it's either luck. If you lucky you will get thru quick if you are less lucky your case get stuck on someone's desk.

I say again remember that a RFE is NOT ALWAYS a bad thing, and it means 100% that someone has or is working your case and that's better than waiting in limbo don't you agree?

I know that RFE are not necessarily a bad thing. But some rfe get solve in a few days other in months. And I know based on my experience that the more you wait the more chances are that something is wrong. Its my second time applying for k1 and in first case we got and RFE as well. We waited 60 just to find out we got denied. And of course I am getting nervous when I see that everyone around me are getting approved with the same rfe in no days and I am still waiting. I cannot afford to go thru a denial again.

Personally, I think RFEs are not good at all...because they cause delays.....We received an NVC checklist (RFE) for our CR-1 case.....although my attorney immediately responded to it, it caused a 3 month delay because it put our case back to the end of the line......Our case was at NVC for a total of about 23 weeks........

I guess it's just a personal perspective.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I understand but that's not necessarily true i waited 299 days there was nothing wrong and no RFE, it just depends on the case.

Yes in that case insofar as the additional time it could be viewed as not a good thing, but overall as opposed to a denial I'm comparing it too.

ANYTHING is better than a denial...that's for sure........this whole process is not for the weak minded.  It takes a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money..........😄
