Should I file I864 or I864A?

I'm a U.S citizen sponsoring my wife with the I130. MY case was recently approved by Texas Service Center and is now being sent to NVC. I'm hoping to get a head start and start gathering and filing out the necessary documents now. Input and guidance would be appreciated

For AOS, my brother will be acting as a joint sponsor although I already make above the poverty line. Even though we live in the same household, would he use the I864A? or just the I864?

So why are you complicating things with another sponsor if you earn enough?

You as the primary sponsor always do an I-864. If you want to add his income to your form, then he has to complete an I-864A plus proof of citizenship or greencard, plus all the evidence...tax return, etc. I -864A is akin to him granting permission for you to add his income to your form I-864.

I want to strengthen my application so I figured I could do that by adding my brother income as well, surpassing 100k combined.

$100k will not get you more approved than simply being over the threshold. But you have more paperwork to submit and understand. Get anything wrong on it and NVC kicks it back for correction, delaying you.
