Interesting thought.  It has probably crossed the minds of many people over the years.

I think the uscis should have far more transparency.  I have come across uscis 'apologists'  at this site but that government agency sticks out like a sore thumb.

Uscis has nothing to do with the border nor any decisions on who enters or not

YMMV

Then why ask you for all that info ! Just name date of birth social security and address is all they need ! Why make you jump through hoops a letter from her a letter from me did we meet in person this is nonsense then ! By what you are saying ! Lol

Because some of that are required items for the law to be eligible for the K-1 category, and others are required to comply with IMBRA.

The letters of intent are required as documentation that you intend to marry within 90 days of entry on the K-1 visa, which is a requirement of the K-1 visa.

The requirement to meet in person within the past 2 years is to avoid the so-called "mail order bride", as is providing evidence that you did not meet through an IMB (or showing compliance with IMBRA if you did).

Yes I was writing that if you have all the appropriate cards to go in and out of customs and you are already married and they won’t let you back in the country ! I would move to her my wife !

We have all been waiting, some longer than others...having previous marriages, children, other dependents, and millions of other factors can make the wait longer. Last year it was 8-10 months of wait. I've done it in 8 months total and that was pretty fast. You've filed not so long ago...if anything,  you will need a lot of patience, because here is some news for you: once you two get married, you need to file EAD and Advance Travel Parole, along with Green card. Your wife will not be able to travel outside the country before she has her EAD/AP, which is about 7 months waiting time. GC comes I about 1+ year for most of us. So it's just a beginning my friend :)

BTW meeting only once and proposing after 15 days since the meeting will be a huge red flag, this may be a reason for the delay as they run additional checks.

BTW, that is an embassy issue and and embassy specific situation,  it is not an issue in Kyiv

YMMV

It's a lot easier waiting for the EAD, AP and GC because your partner is already here.

You say it's an embassy issue and then you say it is not an issue in Kyiv.  Last time I checked the embassy was in Kyiv.  So what are you saying?

It is an embassy issue not the uscis,  so no delays in petition processing because of short courtship.   Some embassies take a dimmer view on short courtships.  Kyiv isn't one, as long as you show a continuing ongoing relationship you should be fine

Ok, now I understand what you mean.  However, why would a short courtship not be vetted closely by the uscis?  Isn't it part of their process to confirm the validity of the relationship?  If I meet Sally for 15 minutes, propose and she accepts and then I submit a petition, that isn't going to raise the antennae of the uscis even a little?  Versus, say, a relationship that has lasted a year or more?

I am not suggesting an outright denial here but I have to think the uscis might take some extra time looking at a two week relationship.  They might even take a longer look at a two week relationship and there is a significant age difference (ex:  she's 18, he's 60).
