Called USCIS and the level 1 lady immediately said she would escalate to level 2 for me. So that was nice. I didn't have to fight her to talk to level 2, which I've had to do in the past...

 

Anyway the level 2 lady confirmed what was already explained in this thread. She did also confirm that the old card was marked as "destroyed" and that the new card shows up when she looks me up in the system. So she told me to ignore it. So I guess I will lol!

Today I received the electronic receipt and they will schedule a new bio-metric appointment. Is this just their template or are they really going to make me to spent a whole day for this (ASC is really really far away)?

Not sure what you mean. The biometrics letter for the I-90 is basically the same as AoS biometrics.

I was hoping not having to go to ASC to do fingerprinting because it is really really far. It seems that I will have to go, even though there is no change and I am correcting the error in the card immediately when I received it. Thanks!!

Oh yes unfortunately you'll have to go. They always ask for new biometrics if it's been more than a certain amount of time since the last biometrics they took (I think it's like a year or 15 months or something like that).
