I'm from Argentina and we are getting married here to start the CR1 visa after. Getting the argentinian residency after marriage is quite easy and I was wondering if it helps the CR1 process having the residency from the country of the us citizen partner. Maybe it works as proof of our marriage that we can submit with the package. What I'm scared of is that getting it may be a problem or not help at all (we wont do it if it's unnecessary).

Not really. Doesn't do much in sense of the I-130 process. Actually means they have to do extra background checks from Argentina and your other country of origin.

Any evidence showing your time spent together is a plus......but it really won't speed up the normal, slow CR-1 process.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The idea is not to speed it up, just to give more evidence since the marriage will be pretty recent by the time we send the i130

Certainly anything you can provide which shows financial co-mingling, time together, and a life together is beneficial.  Many, if not most, international couples don't have much evidence other than proof of time together, a marriage certificate, and evidence of continued communication......Proof of residence in Argentina would serve as one piece of evidence if it connects you both.

So if he has the residency but he's still living in the US... it's useless, isn't it? Well, I think that I'll use what most international couples use haha. Thanks

Probably....if he actually lived there for a period, more useful.

Correct, but evidence of actually being there is just as good.  If you want residency status in Argentina, go for it.  If you would be doing it only to help your spouse visa process, I would say, don't bother.
