Hello,

My K-1visa wife and I filed her I-751 in March 2018.  Her 2 year GC expired on May 20, 2018, but she has her 18 month extension letter that, I think, covers her status until November 20, 2019. Her Philippine passport is good until 2020.

I booked a Caribbean cruise that lasts from September 29 to October 6.  Since her 18 month extension will be so close to expiring, will she still be able to get through US customs and onto the ship?  Should we try to get an I-551 stamp?

I talked to Royal Caribbean, but they said it was up to US customs.  Technically she will still have legal resident status for the entire duration of the cruise, but will expire a month after.  She should have her 10 year GC by the cruise time, but I want to make sure we're covered.Thank you for taking the time to read this.

The letter is good enough to let her enter the USA.

Whether it is good enough for cruise line to let her on the ship is up to people who check her in.

I would want an I-551 stamp in my passport, if I were in the same situation
