I actually took self attested xerox copies of all my documents that have my address in em. (Aadhar, voter, passbook, passport front and back pages and a local resident certificate) but to my surprise they didn’t take any of these barely even looked at em. Just took my passport xerox and checked the number and name etc. and then I was sent to another counter (final) out there as well I was asked for no other document other than my passport. And he gave it within 5 mins. The whole process was under 30 minutes. Have you guys scheduled an appointment yet ?

Do they need your passport size picture also?

Yeah, they took her picture on Counter A.

But she didnt get her PCC the same day. They said they have to do the Police Inquiry from local police station as her Passport is more than a year old.

Well, my passport is 4 years old. And definitely not within a year since issue. But I guess different states have different rules regarding PCC. Mine is from the Kolkata one. Anyway, it could either be that or that your fiancées residential address on the passport is different than her current residential address. One of the two. But yes for me and the others who applied with me were given PCC on the stop regardless of our passport issuance dates.

How long are PCCs valid for issued from Indian passport office. by the time we get interview our PCC might be 7 months old. NVC already accepted it earlier, because it was only 4 months at that point.

*Nevermind got my answer, it is valid for one year.

Is it true you need 2 separate PCC’s - one from passport office and one from the local police station?

Not true

The one from the passport office is the only one officially recognized and required.

Oh, I’ve heard about some states taking a while to verify. But it’s almost always within 2-3 weeks max a month. I’ve also heard some police men ask for bribes. But you’re not supposed to fall for that xD but hey, this is india lol.

That's par for  the course in India. Which is one reason PCCs from local police stations are not recognized.
