Or you could make it - it is really easy:

Baked Custard: 3 eggs, slightly beaten, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 cups milk, scaled, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Combine eggs and sugar. Slowly stir in slightly cooled milk and vanilla. Fill six custard cups (small dishes will do) or a large 1 quart casserole dish and set in a shallow pan on an oven rack. Pour hot water into the pan 1 inch deep. Bake at 325 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes for the individual dishes or 60 minutes for the casserole dish. Custard is done when a knife inserted off center comes clean. Serve warm or chilled.

Stirred Custard: - same ingredients:

Combine eggs slightly beaten, sugar and milk. Cook in a double boiler over hot but not boiling water, stirring constantly. As soon as the custard coats a metal spoon, remove it from heat. Cool at once by placing pot in cold water and stir for one or two minutes. Add Vanilla. Serve either warm or chilled.

Serves 5 or 6, I LOVE Custard - it is one of my comfort foods:-). Now, do you also want a recipe for custard pie?

 Hi!

Do you have Meijer in Minnesota? It has a great international food aisle. Another possibility that we use alot for chutney is Amazon.com.

Good luck!

PS - We share the same wedding day!

Hi! Try this website http://www.britishsupermarket.com/

They are here in Orlando and we went to the store. We happened to get custard from them and it was really good!

I just did a search on their site and we got the custard that was $3.95 - Ambrosia I think it was.

Hope this helps!

You can buy a tin of Birds Custard Powder from any of the online British stores, but I agree with Katheryn41, make it yourself, its easy. I personally use this method, which is guaranteed to turn out the British way that your husband will like:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database...ard_65614.shtml

A few translations: Castor sugar is just regular sugar and cornflour is corn starch. For "single cream" I used half-and-half.
