OldUser thanks to the past presidency's immigration changes, covid, and yada yada It was the extension and date it would end would be the issue for employment.  Like was offered a job last summer to teach but the I-551 expired October 2022 so who is going to hire a teacher who may or may not get another extension for employment

Denying employment on these grounds is a real discrimination. Also, it is mitigated by presenting unrestricted social security card and valid driver's license or state ID. LPR can get unrestricted SSN card with conditional GC and or extension letter if needed. Same goes to ID / drivers license.

At the time I got my current job, I had less than a month left on conditional GC. I never had to show it to new employer... I'm a professional with a very decent salary.

I hope that whoever reads this do not end up in situation your family was. I can only imagine how difficult it was to live on one income.

Best of luck, be ready to do combo interview (I-751 and N-400).

Thank you OldUser.  Good thing with no debt and living simple life by choice it has been doable.  But wanting to buy a house or open our own business hasn't been since hanging in USCIS limbo.  He actually requested they be combined back in March but still no response.  Irony is we knew each for over 6 years from in person visits, phone calls, emails, sms history before we ever file.

Agreed. People that have pending cases with immigration should be better informed in order to avoid being discriminated at

Applied in Jan 2022, got notice today that new card is being produced. Citizenship interview scheduled in August.
Last week on the 22nd, two immigration officers showed up at the house. No RFE, but I think they had to verify some things. Feel free to look at my other posts for detailed info on the visit.

I was about to ask you about the visit you received, when I read your other post. It’s all good news! In my case, my 751 is still dormant. Nothing, niente, nada, and I filed a few days after you. I also have my pending n400, and the only movement I saw was that the date of “actively being reviewed” change from February 6 (the date I did my biometrics) to June 15. I’m assuming someone touched my file, but that’s it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The date changed from the biometrics date to June 8th. Both said “actively being reviewed.” No extra information needed or something along those lines. It was a coincidence I looked on the 12th, but I never got any notification. Not sure what that was all about. For N400. Nothing ever changed for 751 until today.
