I had biometrics actually in August, no interview

I am with Nebraska. July of this year. From what I have seen in the spreadsheets and talking to 4 people with that service center, most did not have an interview. Those who had biometrics, like yourself, waited about 7 or 8 months and then approx 3 after that for the letter stating they are getting the conditions lifted and the 10 year. I don't know why LIN is so slow. Other folks who filed at the same time as I did and who are with other service centers have had their biometrics done already. Of course, that in itself does not mean that the rest will be as fast. Anyway, I am not stressing anymore. I realize that with LIN all things happen an 8 month snails pace. Congrats to you!

Hello everyone!

Here is my timeline:

9/4/2019 - Packet was sent
9/6/2019 - Packet was received by USCIS in Phoenix, Arizona
9/11/2019 - Personal Check was deposited/cashed by USCIS

9/11/2019 - Text message received with LIN#

9/14/2019 - Received I-797 receipt with 18 month extension

Nothing since then. I have heard of another person filing at the same time as me and they already completed their biometrics. My case is in Nebraska. I also have a friend in Hawaii that never got his conditional but he tried the second time and he right away got his 10 year. He filed at the same time as me for the conditional and somehow it fell through the cracks so he had to file again.

Is this normal?

I have spoken to many folks with Nebraska. Majority of them waited approx 8 months for biometrics ppt many received a letter at that time stating that their original biometrics were being reused. Also, most did not need another interview. I am with Nebraska too. July 2019 filer. Nothing since my letter on August 3rd. Nothing to do but wait. USCIS site says that Nebraska is between 18 and 24 months. There is a chart that shows that those who have filled in with Nebraska have waited this long.

Got it. Thank you. Won't lie but this wait is a pain. Especially since this wait might be much longer than the wait for the conditional card

You are right, for most folks. I can wait though. Everything for me went quickly in the beginning. Accepted and crossed within 3 months in 2015.  Then, when I applied for change of status in December, I had biometrics done in 2 months. After that,  I heard nothing until July 2016 -RFE. Sent that and nothing until I finally phoned our congressman at office in Washington in June 2017. Apparently my file had been misplaced. Interview in October 2017.  So, I know all about waiting.  It still peeves me off if I think about it though because I could have been applying for naturalization a long time ago.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I filed mid-January and didn’t get my Biometrics done until late August!

Yep, looks like they’re speeding things up with all the new hires this year. January filers took around 7 months to get bio and May - July seems to be taking around 5. Hopefully the acceleration applies to adjudication as well.

One can hope, the 15-25 months average wait posted is kinda rough to see. Just nice seeing some movement, I have a quick local office

Yeah, mine was a very straightforward case (no dependents, no waiver, and I provided about 7 inches of evidence). Maybe that helped 😆

It looks like there has been a big increase in activity and accelerated processing at Nebraska since around April / May. Staying positive and hoping for a speedy decision!

Yeah it sucks to wait. Luckily the turnaround times posted on VJ seems to be improving after they got through that 2018 glut. Stay positive, it shouldn't be too long now.
