Best sourse is USCIS itself

All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator. See8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) .

This is the answer from NVC website:

***********

"All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which you are applying for a visa, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator."

************

So if a document is in Arabic and your interview is in UAE, there is no translation required, since UAE's official language is Arabic. But if your document has been issued by a country other than UAE and even though it's in Arabic, you might still need translation, since it is not a UAE issued document and you are not doing interview in your home country.

I am just using Arabic as an example, it will apply to any language.

If someone sends documents in to both , they have to show the original and the English translations

go ahead and try it your way

Arabic is the offical language of our country too but the US embassy is on US property (in any county legally )

You asked for clarification,  i gave you the government site

both USCIS and NVC require English translations

this is required thruout the entire process

we had to have all our documents translated into English /  it tells you that is all correspondence sent from immigration

The difference between USCIS and DOS is that if the document is in the "mother" tongue of the country where the interview will occur, then a translation isn't required by DOS.

Please don't post wrong information. Just because you did something doesn't make it right. Uscis is different from NVC. If you don't know the official NVC position on translation, read the official link that I have posted above.

If you have any information from NVC contradicting the NVC Link I posted, please post it.

Translations cost time and money. If the official site says, no need for translation,  then save the money.
