Hi, I have a question regarding to the processing time of the interview scheduling for I-485.

A little background. I'm a LPR and my husband and I are both Chinese. Both of us live in US now. Our PD is Nov 14, 2017. We submitted the I-485 application and work authorization in February 2019.

I checked the case status yesterday and noticed that it showed that an interview is scheduled for the I-485 and they will mail the details to us.

While I'm just waiting for the mail, I'm kind of confused. Since my case is not current yet, does that mean it could take months before the interview is scheduled?

Thanks for any insights in advance!

I saw several cases on VJ that people had their interviews scheduled before their PD became current. So it’s normal. You will still have to wait to get your green card after the interview though (until your PD is current). Just wait for your interview notice in mail. And congratulations.
