Hi I have a question, my fiance just got out of the military this April and I might have my embassy interview in May or June. Since he earned 12,000 from Jan-Apr 2019 does that mean he only need 4,910x3 to meet the minimum income requirements (for 2 dependents) or the computation is going to be 16,910x3 since he's unemployed on the day of my interview? We really need help. Hope you can help us regarding this. Thank you.

The below is correct unless you will be going to either Alaska or Hawaii then the amount would be different.

He's unemployed?  If so, he can not use past income as evidence of ability to financially support you.  The key is CURRENT income and/or liquid assets.

It's $16910x3.  He can not use income from a job he no longer has.  He can only use income from a current job.

If he has savings but isn't enough, can he use his unemployment benefits too?

So he can't add the unemployment income at all?

Unemployment benefits end......they are not a reliable source of income for the future....The Consulate Officer will want to make sure he can support you in THE FUTURE.

No.  Those are temporary payments that will end soon.

Will it be enough under 2 dependents (me and him)  if he has this

31.xK in the bank, 5.7xK in investment funds, 637 in bonds, and his car is valued at 14.xk total of 50937

what documents does he need to show for his car?

That sounds very close to the minimum required......the CO will look at the entire financial situation...........if a person is close to the minimum, it is usually better to find a joint sponsor.

Unfortunately the embassy in our country doesn't accept joint sponsor for fiance visa, isn't that enough? Coz 16,910x3=50,730

It would be at the discretion of the consulate officer.....entirely......might be better to wait until he has found a job.

His only car does not count.

He doesn't have enough.

You will need to put off your visa until he gets a job and can meet the Affidavit of Support requirements.
