Good evening everyone! Feeling releived and happy. My deadline for my paperwork was the 4/6/19. I sent off my documents on 4/4/19 and it got there on the 4/8/19. Reason my documents reached on the 8th , the 6 of April was a Saturday. However, I received a text, that’s my case was received and, I also received a case number. The official notice will mail to me (I797).Do I received my extension letter same time or will I be notice about it? Why am I trying to check my case and the number doesn’t work?

The extension letter will arrive in the mail. There won't be any additional notices, it'll just arrive in your mailbox.

Unless you submitted G-1145 for e-Notification via email/text, you won't receive any emails or texts. You'll just have to wait for the physical letter to show up in the mail.

Oh yea! I sent that form for them to contact me. That’s the reason why I received a message with my case number and in the message it stated that I would receive notice of action shortly

It will take anywhere between several days to a month for the numbers to reflect in their system.

Really? That sounds weird to me. Well, I’m on the phone trying to reach an immigration officer.

Is it with this case only? Because when I sent my I485 case and I received my case number, didn’t took that long.

Not sure what sort of an answer you are seeking from an officer besides that your case was received? This process could take over a year, no need to stress yourself out at the beginning :)

Oh okay. For me, I don’t care if it takes over an year, once I can travel with my extension letter and my expired green card, that’s all I care about. Even though, mine won’t expire until July anyway. 🙂🙂🙂😁. I just wanted to know why the case number is not coming up, I do appreciate all the answers from everyone on here😌🙏. I just like to get it from the officers. I feel better that way.
