Green Card Interview - New Affidavit of Support?

So my wife has her green card (I-485) interview coming up in a month. In the instructions they sent there is a list of items we have to bring to the interview. One of them says, “A complete Affidavit of Support with all required supplemental documents,” then it lists W-2’s pay stubs, etc... it ends with, in brackets “(unless already submitted)”.

 

All of that was submitted and accepted when I first filed. I even got an RFE about it early on (I forgot to send a copy of my sponsor’s proof of U.S. citizenship). So it all got worked out, but all the information was for 2017 because I filed in March of 2018. It took 13 months to process. So do I have to bring all new financial info, sponsor info, another affidavit for 2018? Or do they go off of my original filing? 

 

I know it seems like it says clearly “Unless already submitted,” but that fact that it says “from the most recent tax year” is confusing.

It appears your wife is adjusting from a K-1.  If so, then you will need a CURRENT & accurate I-864 from yourself and another one from the joint sponsor.......and you need 2018 tax documents.

Now im puzzled.. im in the same situation as @ALANCrookham & i only applied for AOS in Dec 2018 & my GC interview is end of this month; so i dont understand why i would need another recent affidavit form if it was only 4 months ago since i filed the first one?

I may be in the wrong forum, she isn’t adjusting from a K-1. She is adjusting from a B2. We have been married for 13 years, but living in Panama all that time. She had a 10 year visitor’s visa that we finally decided to adjust because we have been spending more and more time here in the States.

My post still applies..........you will need a CURRENT & accurate I-864 from yourself and another one from the joint sponsor.......and you need 2018 tax documents.

That I-864 was for YOU.  The new one is for your wife..........correct?  Two separate cases....

I am the beneficiary (wife) that moved over on a K1, my husband is the USC, he filled out the affidavit when we sent off AOS in Dec 2018

He submitted an affidavit of support for his AOS in December?   If so, then your case is completely separate and requires a separate affidavit of support for you.

I think ive confused you sorry, I should've made my own thread maybe but the question the OP posted made me think about my case

My query is, would my husband need to provide another affidavit form, even thought its only been 4 months since we filed AOS with the affidavit form? we only sent off AOS in Dec 2018 so no details would've changed apart from the (now) 2018 tax return (W2, IRS transcipt) & recent pay stubs.

I would take a current affidavit.....even if it has been submitted before......

I filed for AOS in November and had my AOS interview yesterday, no one asked for another affidavit form. But better safe than sorry, I would take a new one and see if they ask for it.

If your interview is after April 15, you might need a new one because because the tax filing deadline.

 

I had my interview in March, we filed July 2018. We prepared a new form with supporting evidence, but the IO didn't take it. Showed us the one we sent in and it had a big stamp on it meaning it was approved. She said we are fine.

 

Just in case I would prepare a new one with current supporting documents just in case. 

Hard to tell if they want to see 2018,2017,2016 taxes because of the tax filing deadline.
