I'm currently from the UK and hold a UK Passport.  Im not too sure if anyone can give me any advice on this. I have recently got an 3 months internship offer from an Animation film Company located in San Francisco, United States. However they wont be able to provide a visa for me. I'm looking into what visa which will be applicable for me. The J1 internship visa wont be applicable for me as i graduated a few years back but have been studying at online course whilst working. The online course is not eligible as you do not get a degree from this. i think my only route as i graduated a few years back is to go for the J1 trainee visa.

If there are any other ways i could get a visa i would greatly appreciate any advice.

Kind regards,
Atif

J-1 can be for post grads too.

This requires the company to provide affidavit of support generally which means, while you may pay for the visa (which can be costly with an agency) The company still has to provide full offer, affidavit of support(how they will pay you), ect.

My husband had two J-1's at same company in NY state before and the place he worked had to provide all the documentation and such for him to give to the agency he was using.

Could you work remotely?

@Ben&Zian yeah that makes sense i'm not too sure if they want to be involved as its probably time consuming for them and extra work. Im guessing with a trainee visa they have to be involved?

@Boiler   i cant work remotely i need to be on site.

Thank you so much for your response, its been very helpful

Job offer without a work visa is both pointless and a waste of everybody time.

Agree. I'm scratching my head at this.  I'm not aware of any visa that would work for a role like  this that one can self-petition...as OP describes his circumstances, they do make him ineligible for J1, and company does not appear to be prepared to sponsor one anyway.
