I cant see the wood for the trees at the moment. If your proposed sponsor/spouse cannot sponsor you - then how much is needed to 'sponsor yourself', so to speak ie take your own $$ out with you?

Or can you be sponsored from the UK?

Any info would be great, i cant find it to be honest

I guess you are talking about Affidavit of Support. You can have a co-sponsor -- somebody else who satisfies income requirements or one can show assets if income isn't enough.

If I remember it correctly, the financial sponsor needs to be domiciled in the USA. I think it says so somewhere in the I-864 forms. Sorry.

As far as I know the cosponsor has to be a US national, as in you cannot have a UK co-sponsor. No way around that one.

You can ony count your (beneficiary) current foreign income if there is a guarantee that it will continue after the move to the US - or you can use assets to qualify. as long as such can be converted to cash in one year.

Then again,I'm no expert. more info on your case would be useful to help you.

Well, no but you can transfer three times the annual income requirement (or shortfall) to your spouse's US bank account and your spouse can sponsor you.

Actually you can self sponser in the United Kingdom, maybe you should ask this question in the UK forum as I know that members have done this.

This does not surprise me, there seems to be a problem with the moderators moving things that are specific to the region, obviously this needs to be addressed, you need to ask the idiots to put it back.

I don't think it is specific to the region. I haven't heard about self-sponsoring with income unless the income will continue when the UKC makes the move to the US. The UKC assests can be used though.

I ASKED MY FELLOW UK FOLK BOTH HERE AND IN THE UK FORUM. THAT I HAD 2 TOPICS PLACED IN THE SAME VACINITY, WHEN I DELIBERATELY ASKED IN 2 SEPERATE FORUMS.
