Even if he doesn't receive a ban, at least Sarah will not end up used in a loveless marriage. That is the main point here. I admire her strength at this difficult time. Sending hugs!!!!!

This just goes to show how even if there are no significant age gaps and/or the pair is attractive that these things happen, makes this story quite the eye opener, I feel terrible for her.NO WOMAN deserves this, and I know tht I came off the wrong way but there is no crime in falling in love as we all deserve, the crime to oneself happens when we subject ourselves and our heart to a person knowing that things are ringing in the head and are being ignored.

Just because a couple has a big age gap doesn't mean it isn't a bonafide relationship. I'm 21 years older than my husband, who happens to be Jordanian. We are also different religions and I'm divorced with 2 children. We have a few more red flags thrown in, as well. We've been very happily married for almost 8 years, he's been in the US 7 years and he's been a citizen for 2.

Would you believe me if I told you that this is not the first time I’ve heard of this? Couples make sacrifices for a better future for themselves when they truly love each other. But something liike this!  I know of two stories similar to this that took place about 10 years ago and then 7 years ago. I just happen to know the women that were involved. Sickening. This was one of those. A lot of times these women are agreeable to whatever the man thinks is best for them Esoecially if it means they get to spend the rest of their lives living a better life.  This one however won’t get that chance.

I've seen a few other instances of this exact scenario over the years, as well.

I never said that it couldn't happen, but those are rare.

@Cathi, it is  VERY rare.  There are so many factors that come into play when it does work. I’m also so happy to see that you and your husband have something so special.  You will be in inspiration for others to try when they doubt. You know what the odds are and you beat them as marginal as it is.  I think spiritually physically emotionally and mentally you and your husband were a match from the get go.   You were meant to be with each other.  Period. Im also older than my fiancé by 12 years and we took a lot of factors  into consideration but we also beats most odds, just like you, because of our compatibility,  mental state of mind, maturity, work ethic and family values. I have a few friends here who want to do the same and I don’t recommend it for everyone because my situation, just like yours, is very different.  You are a great success story for those who do you want to try and mostly it’s because your husband. What i mean is he had the right intentions, he was raised well, loved you for who you are and kept his promise because of his moral values. Those traits in Arab men nowadays are becoming rare. Happy for you! 💐

I don't think it's necessarily an "Arab" man problem, I think it's a societal problem, male and female. No matter where you go or the culture and no matter the gender, race or religion, you will find people who cheat. It isn't any more prevalent in the Middle East than it is here, in Europe or anywhere else. It just is.

Sarah is a lucky woman to have a friend like you. I'm glad you've been there to support her through this.

The issue is that it is much more prevalent to cheat to get a Green Card and this is after all an Immigration Site.

I'm happy Sarah was able to get the call done and not fall for anything he had to say.

He was in AP so how can he have an approved visa while in AP.  Nothing gets approved until AP is done so I don't see why that lawyer said what he said. Either way I would not wait too long before calling or emailing the consulate directly. Sadly I don't trust that lawyer there either.

Hopefully they will put a note in the system about him so for any future visa they will see the reason for this cancellation and hopefully will restrict him in the future, because he will do it again clearly.

Yes he will. Thank you.

They can always apply for a visa again at any time---getting approved for one is another matter, of course.  And presumably would face more scrutiny if a previous finding of fraud/misrepresentation was actually placed in their file.

Something placed in his file would depend on the type of concrete evidence (if any) presented by her.  If it's only written statement of assumption/accusation, won't go far.

I hope this is not the case. I’m working on all of the evidence.

Good that you were able to get on Visajourney!  Hopefully the prior posts have been a source of strength and information for you as you go through this.

In terms of evidence, the outcome of it/how much it helps will depend on what exactly you have.
