Hello:

I am confused about I-134. I am a full time student and donot have any income. My father is being a co-sponsor. My questions are:

1. He filed a joint return with my mom. I donot know how this works. We just included my father's income, his paystubs and w-2's. Since my mom/s name is on the tax return, does she also need to sign the affidavit?

2. I have a joint checking account with my dad and he is the primary account houlder. We have the bank letter about the deposits, balance etc. in my dad's name. We included that deposit amount (Q# 7) in my dad's I-134. Should I put $0 (Q# 7) in my I-134. Is it ok not to have any deposit in the sponsor's name?

3. In my I-134, the only dollar numbers I can fill are the personal property. I donot have anything else to fill in. I am a student and dependant on my dad. I am getting worried whether this could cause any problems. My Dad's income is many times more than the poverty guidelines.

Hope I made some sense with my questions. please help :help::help::help:

Thank you very much for your replies

Your Mother does not need to sign the affidavit.

Include the entire tax return along with your Father's W-2's.

Assets that are yours may be declared on your I-134.

Most consulates are not interested in the value of personal property.

If I were in your shoes, I would consider covering my affidavit with a brief letter explaining your student status.

I believe for consulates in India three years of income tax returns will be required. Research this for verification.
