So with all this time on my hands while I wait for my NOA2, lets talk chat/phone/video logs:

1. Chats. I heard about 5 to 6 flash screens of chat per month would suffice. If they are not in English,  each one would have to be translated? Where do you put the translation?  On the back of each flash screen?

2. Call/Video logs. We mostly call/video through Facebook messenger. I’m having the hardest time finding a way to collect all the call logs and video logs. Does anyone know of a way on messenger??

Thanks all.

I sent 30 screenshots of chats that related to everyday life things as well as upcoming trips/trips that just ended. I sent 12 screenshots of call logs, 1 per month for the past 12 months to show there is an ongoing relationship. Both of these are, in my opinion, just supplementary evidence. It isn't enough on it's own to get you approved but it probably helps establish validity to the relationship.

One thing I will mention though is that everything in the i-129f form that referred to meeting your fiance indicated that they are concerned with an in-person meeting, not about first contact online. With this in mind I did not include any chats or call logs that occurred prior to the first in-person meeting. I don't know if that was the correct thing to do or not but I felt like it might confuse the petition if I included that. I am also not sure if we will mention it at the interview stage.

Pictures together and passport stamps and such are far more valuable than chat logs that can be faked easily.

I would second this idea. I went very light with chat logs video call logs. For WhatsApp call logs, I took a few screenshots of continued daily calls and crammed them together on one sheet of paper where the timestamps were still legible. I included a few chat transcripts (in English only, to avoid needing translation) that were from when we first started talking. I found that pictures, passport stamps, original boarding passes were much more valuable as they can be verified. It's very hard to fake a passport or original boarding passes or pictures together in front of landmarks (for example, the entrance to the San Diego Zoo or the Panama Canal). Chat logs and transcripts can easily be faked. My evidence packet was far heavier on this type of evidence and I hear they may think you are overcompensating if you include a huge list of chat transcripts and not much else. They want to know you spend time together in person more than anything.

I'm curious on this too. I've got about a year and a half of potential chat logs, screenshots, meeting in real life pictures, receipts/etc. How vast do they want the chat logs to be? We've been using at least 3 different chat programs. Got FB, Line, and WhatsApp.

My suggestion is to go heavier on the real-life pictures and receipts. It shows time spent together in person and that evidence is hard to fake. Chat logs I would say should be rather light, but include a variety of them. I included screenshots of WhatsApp video call history, the engagement announcement on Facebook (to also demonstrate that this is public knowledge between both of our families and friends), and a few chat transcripts that were only English (to avoid necessity for official translation). Nobody wants to read through tons of chat logs and it doesn't really do much to demonstrate the real-life meetings.

Chat logs were a requirement to complete our K-visa administrative processing at US Embassy Moscow.  What had met many times and we did not think we needed any chat logs at the interview.  We were lucky because we were able to gather all of our Skype logs which showed that we had a relationship.  Our K-visa depended on these chat logs.   It was probably obvious that our logs were not fake because we had such short notice to deliver a lot of them.

Interesting so it could be some embassies value chat logs more than others? I would kinda figure too that real life pictures and boarding passes/etc, things that couldn't be faked easily, would be worth more. But if that happened in Russia, hmmm. I've noticed it seems like each embassy has it's own set of standards. Wonder how Indonesia rules on things... So far from what I hear they are more lax there. Barely even ask many questions. Guessing they have a well defined set of red flags they look for and if they don't catch anything they just don't care to press.

Do different consulates value chat logs differently? Not sure but when you have doubt - just do what you feel more comfortable, for example: instead of having 1 x page per month, you can do 4 x pages per month or 8 x pages per month... and worse case: they just ignore your chat logs.

I'm considering loading them with a lot more pictures. The chat apps have time stamps and such but they don't always show the dates. We've both made a trip to see each other's countries and have loads of picture evidence. Not to mention all the travel evidence kept, receipts/etc. Heck so it's not all smiles and fun shots, I've got pictures with her when she was admitted to a hospital for a couple days. That's gotta count for something.

I'd like to see an RFE or a letter to read this for myself.

Chat logs can easily be faked.  They hold almost no weight.

China is considered a higher fraud country than Russia or the Ukraine.... none no one else is saying anything about required chat logs.  Phillipines is the highest... yet no requirement there, either.

We didn't argue with the request from the US Embassy Moscow or question their wisdom. And our logs were quite substantial given on short notice.  We have no intention to give you any evidence of our experience. We did what they asked. That's what happened.  The San Bernardino shooting killing 14 Americans by a K-1 visa recipient just happened in late 2015 when we had K-visa interview.

If you want to tell a US Embassy CO who put you in administrative processing your opinion on logs that you are being asked for, they probably would love to hear it and protect America.
