Has any one worked for Dillards.

All i hear is they will sack you.

What are the good and the bad things about them.

It cant be all bad.

I have a friend she worked for them. everyday she complained that she did not like working for this company. she ultimately got sacked..

Dillard's was my very first job here in the states. I worked in Infant clothing. You have to make a certain amount of sales per weel or they will start lowering your hourly wage.

You also have to have a minimum of 2 ppl sign up for their credit card per day. You get an 8.00 bonus if you do that.

Be careful though if you do sign on there. When they hire you, they give you a packet of info to fill out. Tax stuff as well. I had no idea how to fill out their tax form since it was completly different then back home. I asked for help and they just said , don't bother filling it all out, just sign your name. I found out later that they weren't taking ANY tax off my check and I ended up owing the tax man. Ya! Welcome to America!!!

I worked there for 5 months . If you're used to being on your feet all day, its not too bad. I was used to a desk job so the first week almost killed me! You get paid weekly. Every morning they have a meeting before the doors open to remind you whats on sale and to remind you to get those credit card offers out there. They also have a strict dress code. Business like attire only!

I now work for the company that owns the mall that Dillard's is a tenant of so its kinda weird having my former boss/general manager come to me for questions regarding the lease and stuff. lol
