Hello everyone,

We still have a ways to go before my fiance needs to get his physical done, we just got our NOA2. But, I was reading the steps and it lists the places accepted for physicals. Nothing is remotely near Kolkata, and it says this should be done at least 7 days before the interview. How does everyone go about this? Or am I missing something??

It does suck but it’s the same anywhere. The medical has to be at a US Panel physician facility supported by the CDC. This is to ensure compliance with US immigration policies and reduce fraud. The drawback is that there’s usually only one in a country.

I get that, but India is huge...the closest appears to be Chennai which is several hours by plane. You would think they would at least spread them out. There are several near Mumbai but none east/northeast India. I guess we will just have to stay in Mumbai for a time before the interview. There doesn't seem to be another option.

Thanks for that...and yes I know, but the list of approved drs isn't going to change in 2-3  months. I am coming from the US to be there for his interview and I have responsibilities here. We need to have an idea how we will deal with them instead of stressing then.

Likely it's based on averages (taken over years) of what areas the most applicants seem to reside in/most populated areas.   This way it better serves the "high-traffic" communities...downfall being those who may have to travel.

You should be able to do the medical at the Max in Delhi or Hyderabad. Still not close. :( If only Dhaka was an option?

Canada is a huger country, by area, than India and there are even fewer approved panel physicians in that country.
