We had a nice meeting! There were 8 of us - two couples couldn't make it. We also had a surprise letter from an anonymous VJ member delivered to us by the staff at the cafe. We were able to get one group photo by a nice gentleman who later revealed himself as a former member of VJ. I didn't have the opportunity to speak with him.

Anyhow, thank you Dale and Nicole, Alex and Rey, Ahmari and Jhen!

I'll definitely organize another meetup later in the summer - hopefully at a time and place where more people can join!

I am glad it was a great evening! I thought it would be kind of fun to have someone drop by an anonymous letter to you guys while you were there. It happened to work out perfect since they were in town at the same time . The little 1010101011's were a clue but probably a little overkill to translate (I admit it... I am a techno dweeb sometimes!).

It is always really nice to hear how VJ can extend friendships both online and off!

It gave some of us a bit of a jolt when the cafe worker handed us the envelope, but once we saw the binary code along with the letterhead, we kind of figured out who it came from.

guys - I am sad to have missed it - as I said on this thread (or was in the other) I had to be up in Santa Clarita yesterday - shoot finished at 8pm, I got into culver at 9pm and went looking for people - I now realize I was at the Brazilian place on Venice and not the one on Washington. Doh! *smacks head*

It's a good thing I didn't go introduce myself to a girl I thought looked like Devilette.

So yes, another meet-up of sorts is definitely in order.

I had to laugh about the mystery man in the pic!

And also had to laugh at the mosaic-ing out of Alex and Rey, like we can't notice what they look like! Silly that they wanted to be mosaic-ed out, everyone looks great. But I'd probably ask to be mosaic-ed out too or something like that!
